First Days of School! 2016-2017

School has Started! 2016-2017 school year is here. We have a 6th, 4th, 2nd, and Kindergarten – ALL at the SAME school!

AND we are off to a good start with some of our back to school goals! We are getting up early. The big kids read to the little kids in the afternoons. We have been doing our scripture reading before school. And I have been getting all of the kids ready for the day even if we have no where to go! Big Goals!!

the boys missed the ward Father and Sons camp out so they had their own outing. First they went to the movie Grille where they were the only ones in the theater at 5:00. They watched Jungle Book and ordered Dinner!

After the movie they headed to Flynns Retro arcade! They spent the rest of the night playing old video games until the place closed at 11pm.

Benji got the high score on Mario Bros.!! He got a free drink! (and that’s why we have arcades in our living room)

They went to a Hotel for the night. Then hit Kneaders french Toast for breakfast on their way home.

Jeremiah Johnson

Packer and I got to go to Jeremiah Johnson Cub Day Camp this year! I am still the Wolf leader so we took them and the Bear Den (Packers group) came with us! BB Guns, Rockets, hiking, Boats, and Archery were the favorites. We went at 6:30am and got back around 2:pm.

Last Day of School

Goodbye to 5th grade with Mrs. Kunzler, 3rd grade with Miss Wessel, and 1st grade with Miss Myntti. It was a good school year. These kids are growing up.

We played and waited for them to get home since the last day of school is only an hour and a half long…

The Hancock’s came over to celebrate! Erica took the school kids to Pizza Pie Cafe!! and then we had a water gun fight 🙂

at 1:30 we had a neighborhood celebration out in the street! Let SUMMER VACATION begin!

Then we ran to swim lessons. And right after swim I dropped all of the kids off with Erica so that Ben and I and my mother and father in law could go to the new Provo City Center Temple!! It was beautiful and exciting. I loved it. We had Cazookies on the way home and Erica watched the kids for the night so we got to chill! Anyone that has at least one kid knows that sometimes it’s nice to not put anyone to bed – and it was NICE. Don’t worry that Erica is 9 months pregnant – I know, I owe her big time 🙂

The End of Soccer Season

Soccer is over. We are saying goodbye to the Red Racers, the Nachos, Orange Crush and Purps. Ben coached all 4 teams and he did a great job. The kids just love him. Cali played a game in the rain. It rained for the entire hour and never stopped!Cali and Mia and Henry had a blast this year.

Rose scored in all of her games this season 🙂 She hadn’t scored in the last game and it was her last chance so she went out there and chased that ball and kept at it until she got the GOAL!!!!!

Packer was on the Orange Crush. He didn’t get a goal this season but he had fun. I missed a lot of his games because of naps and weather 🙁

and Benji missed his last game because we were all sick 🙁 He had a good season though: Cannon, Austin, Holden, Brandt, Conor, Colby, Gabe, Kael, Abe, Haydn, and Jacob.

Now we will enjoy our 3 month break and then start up again 🙂

Dance Festival

The kids love the Dance Festival! We were a week behind this year in learning their moves but they all nailed it anyway. Also, Ben had to work – had an important meeting so he couldn’t come film the whole thing from the top of the ladder 🙁 But I got some good footage and wrangled the other 4 kids – thanks to Udine and Erica helping me.

Pinewood Derby

Pinewood Derby PREP and RACE

This was the final standings: Packer got 7th and Benji got 8th!

Ben and Rose had a soccer game at the same time as the derby so we asked Grandma and Grandpa to come to the derby to help with the kids. They were excellent help. The boys had fun. They were hoping for the win but it’s a good learning experience.

This was Benji’s last pinewood derby! Packer has 1 more year!

Packer is 9

Packer is in the 9 club, or upside down 6. This is how we do 9 years old:

These older kids have ideas for their birthday cakes. This one is Geometry Dash – a cell phone/tablet game that the kids are into right now.

On Saturday the 23rd we invited cousins over for a party. We played arcades and Ben made up a Geometry Dash Obstacle Course game.

we opened presents and ate cake and ice cream!

Big cousins entertained little cousins and everyone tried Ben’s virtual Reality… Then on Sunday night we had the first ever Netty Fireside 🙂 Grandpa taught us all about the plan of salvation.

MONDAY MORNING – BIRTHDAY!! we had to wake up early so he could open presents before school! don’t know how that tradition started….

He got Laser Tag! and Mine craft Textures and Skins! He got a new Scooter! and Books! and a night light!

That night Grandma and Grandpa Nettesheim came over to wish him a happy birthday and gave him some Rockets and the Hancocks came for some Brownies and Ice cream!
