Packer is our Mr cuddly and friendly. He has grown out of the baby stage almost completely and really takes care of himself now. I love seeing his new personality.

I love his personality coming out here.

Packer starts preschool tomorrow and had his first soccer practice tonight (see he is getting big). He loves to play with Benji and his cousins but if there are too many kids then he will typically do his own thing and find his own entertainment.

Packer spent hours up camping making this collection. His excitement over each new leaf/rock/flower/bug was super fun for all of us.

Enjoying some time at the lake.

    Last Week

We had another busy week. Monday and Tuesday were recovery days from Robertson Reunion and then I had to hurry and get everything in order for Erica and kids on Wednesday evening. We played hard with the Hancock’s for the rest of the week and weekend. I did not use my camera much so I a hoping that Erica did. Here are the few pictures that I do have to document the week.

FREE DRINKS - Thursday was free soda at the PG gas station so we ALL took advantage of that.

Thursday was also Kylee's birthday - 9 years old!

Ryan's kids were here all week and Erica and kids - All 12 just played GREAT together.

Packer reminding me why I don't like kids with gum and yes he needs a hair cut.

the cute little girls playing in the hose!

The big kids back from their bike ride ready to cool off.

We spent Thursday at the park and the pond and Saturday at home playing hard. We chased Gentry all over the house while Rose stayed put. Erica, LaNell and I stayed up too late and it was just fun to hang with good friends.

Monday was another recovery, catch up on tired cranky kids day.

Taylee did Cali's hair today - Cali was SOO excited to show me.

These Two are in a love/hate relationship - today they HAD to wear dresses and comb their hair the same!

    Last Thursday

Last Thursday I went to Payson Lakes! I dropped the big kids off at their cousins, then Rose and I jumped in the car with LaNell and the kayaks! We had a nice drive up there and we checked out the campground for next week when my family comes and then we paddled around the lake in the kayaks. Rose was a trooper the whole time. The afternoon out with Lan was a good idea and tons of fun.

Jana and Rose on the lake! It's really pretty up there.

On Monday I took the kids to 7 peaks again! We hadn’t been all month so it was time. We only did 3 things — Lazy River, Wave Pool, and the 2 medium slides by the lazy river. Benji and Packer just realized how fun the slides can be. They went on those ones at least 20 times each and Cali and I went a few times while the boys watched Rose at the bottom.

On Tuesday morning I have Cub Scouts and then we came home and waited for the Garage Door man to come fix our broken spring. That evening we just took it easy and MY BROTHER SEAN GOT HOME FROM HIS MISSION!! I haven’t seen him yet. The entire family is coming out here on Monday so I am waiting for him to come to us. I have talked to him though. He seemed really good and reminded me how hard it is to adjust back after giving of all your time and energy for 2 years. It is hard to think about yourself, everything you do seems pointless or selfish. He has definitely grown, his theme seems to be Exact Obedience… I am excited to see him next week.

I stole this pic - it is the only one I've seen of him!

Wednesday was play group at my house! Some of he neighbors came over and swam and played for a couple of hours. Wednesday was also when I got Snyder Dry Wall to come work on the laundry room! They put up all of the sheet rock that day and now they are finishing the mud, tape and texture.

My fun little neighbor came and held rose all during play group - she is such a good helper. Rose went right to sleep in her arms - adorable.

ready to sheet rock! I was proud of myself for moving that electrical outlet down from the upper ceiling. I know it should be in the wall but the wall was already sheet rocked and how fun is a plug in the ceiling anyway :)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

we found some zucchini hiding in the garden!

and that brings me to today… we took a quick trip to the pond this morning. My kids don’t get in past their knees but they like digging in the sand and Rose was determined to eat it.

    my happy sand eater

    my sand diggers

I wrote this all last night and got tooo tired to post so now it’s Friday but I’m not going back to change the wording 🙂 Happy Weekend!

    Joy School Graduation

    I love this guy!

We just got home from Packer’s Joy School Graduation! This was our first attempt at Joy School and it was a love-hate relationship for me. I loved that Packer made new friends and he really did learn a lot. I love that he had that time away 2 times a week and that Cali and I got to spend time together when he was gone. I loved seeing the kids interact and watching them form friendships. I even loved the teaching part. I guess the hate part just comes in the form of preparation. I felt like their was a lot of busy work before each lesson and that made my teaching weeks really busy and verging on stressful. I would think twice before doing it again BUT I think round 2 would be easier because I know what I am in for and I know what parts of the lesson to just cut out if I don’t have the time or materials.

Isn't he adorable? He was the youngest of the group.

    PACKER TURNED 4 TODAY!!

Packer is 4! He has been so excited for this birthday which has made it exciting for all of us. We celebrated with all of the Utah cousins on Saturday. We had a barbeque and Easter egg hunt and then we celebrated Packer and Amanda’s birthdays with presents and cake and ice cream …

Packer is in this pic somewhere - - -

He didn't waste any time getting his presents open

    Pac requested Angry Bird Cupcakes!

    Enjoying a yellow Bird

Today Packer woke us up nice and early to start the celebration. We opened presents and just played with them all day…

    ready for my presents!

Rose was excited for the 8am fun

Fuzzoodles, Hi Ho Cherry-o, Rocket Launcher and Stackable Robots ...

The Robots were a hit for all 3 of these kiddos

We ate pancakes for dinner – one of Packer’s favorites. And then we hurried off to Trafalga ( we had planned on going to Chuck E Cheese but Packer changed his mind and really wanted to do “Glow Up Golf” ). So we played some miniature golf and then rode the carousel and the airplanes and played some more outside golf, then it started to rain so we hit the indoor play place before coming home.

    enjoying the globe.

We came home and had more cupcakes and opened one last present – Despicable me PJs and Story Book, which ended the evening perfectly and the happy birthday boy fell soundly asleep.

    Making one last birthday wish

Packer is a happy go lucky little boy. He loves to be given a project, is our social one, and still loves tickles and snuggles. He is growing up way to fast. I don’t want my little brown eyed boy to get big yet 🙁

Rose: is ready for cereal! she loves to eat.

yummy to my tummy - 5 1/2 months

Cali: is thinking that she is to big for naps – 🙁 – last week she only took one nap. I am not ready for this 27 month old to be awake all day so I am happy to report that she did take a nap yesterday and is taking a nap right now.

to big to fast - she has also started jumping off of the ledge and doing backward somersaults off the couches.

Packer: This guy came in the kitchen a few days ago to tell me: “I stuck my finger in that thingy and it stung it.” I had no idea what he was talking about so we just went on with our day. A little while later we were in the new toy room and he showed me the light switch that didn’t have the cover on that he had stuck his finger in and gotten shocked!

THE STINGY THINGY, I quickly put the covers on!

Benji: This guy went to play at Bradley’s house again and while there he and Bradley went in a closet to play. Well once they were in they couldn’t open the door to get out because the door knob was broken from that side! Benji said that they both got scared and started crying and screaming for help. No one was coming because they were downstairs and everyone else was upstairs. Then they remembered that they could say prayers to ask Heavenly Father to help them. He said that they prayed that Bradley’s mom would hear them and come open the door. He also said that they said the prayers out loud, he said about 13 prayers and Bradley said 15! Well we think they were in there for a good 40 minutes until Bradley’s mom did hear them and let them out! I’m proud of them for their faith!!

the Benj posing in the newly painted toy room.

Ben: A good way to scare your husband is to clean out from under the bathroom sink and leave the pregnancy test box on top of the garbage. Ben came down a little worried and pale looking that night :).

toy room is painted!! where's the best deal on carpet???

    ARTsy

Benji has been reminding me every day that he gets to decorate a 2 Liter Bottle and bring it to school to be used as a prize at the School Festival this month. I of course was putting it off because I’m not that creative and I didn’t have any good ideas… Well Benji went and got the 2 liter and grabbed some art supplies and he decorated it – ALL BY HIMSELF! and I think he did a great job. And in the end I was so proud of him and glad that it truly was his project and not mine…

    The MONSTER

He was SO EXCITED to take it to school - Muscle Man

The other kids wanted in on the action. I wouldn’t let them do 2 Liter bottles so this is what Packer came up with. I can’t remember what he calls it but he loves it. Oh yeah – ever since I blogged about his bathroom dialog he has stopped doing it!! Now he is convinced that he can wipe himself and just lets me know that he’ll do it himself this time – yahoo for that!

    the creation

After these creations I revealed some wooden cars and paint and let the kids paint them. They were so excited! It was a little messy and not a  daily activity but they sure had fun doing it.
