We are going to miss these guys!!!! ALOT :(

I know I have exceeded the maximum number of posts for one afternoon but here’s one more:

For the last 4 hours Pacen and Camry have been here playing and the kids have been excellent and I can’t help but think how sad it is that they are moving this week! I keep grabbing my camera and capturing these last moments of fun. None of the kids can grasp how different it will be with them not living within 5 minutes of each other and Erica and I are just doing our best to ignore the situation or pretend it isn’t really happening.

3:00 -They were being so good that I had to offer them a treat.

4:00 Just taking turns on the tire swing

5:00 - we had to finish the last of Benji's birthday cake

6:00 back outside after dinner - playing 'something'

These kids have spent the last 4 years together – since the oldest one is not yet 6 we can say they have spent their lives together. I hope they remember this part of their lives. I will miss it. I’m sure there will be many visits in the future but maybe never the perfect set up that we’ve had 🙁

    NURSERY!!!

I don’t know if I’ve ever been this excited for nursery. Cali is such a handful during church. It was wonderful to drop her off at nursery and go enjoy the rest of the meetings. She ran in. Realized that I didn’t come in with her. Dad went in to distract her. He snuck out and when she realized he was gone she screamed pretty loud and threw a good fit. I listened from the door as the great teachers calmed her down. I was worried that they would come bringing her to find us but they never did. She enjoyed her first day and had a big smile on her face when we picked her up.

    18 MONTHS

I wanted to get a cute first day of nursery picture but we were running late before church and after church she was too tired to smile so this a post nap time, still grumpy picture. She and Packer are our 2 little nursery kids now. Aren’t they cute?

    We go to Nursery together!

PS – we are in California for the week and having an awesome time. I better unpack my camera so that we can document the trip. Ben didn’t get to come so we are missing him.

    Packer is 3!

Today our Packer Man is 3 years old! We had a big party with his cousins on Friday Night… duck duck goose, a pirate treasure hunt, and  cake and ice cream. He loved all of the attention.

Today he got to open presents and enjoy all of the attention. We love him and love all of the fun that he brings to the family.

Some Packer Info on his third Birthday: Packer has gotten so grown up in the last few months. His vocabulary is amazing. He rarely throws a fit anymore. He wants to do everything that Benji does and he tolerates Cali a lot better now. He is our social boy. He has his own way of making you feel good. He is the first one up. Refuses to nap. Loves playing toys, helping with projects, and doing anything outside. He loves fruits and vegetables and Loves to be tickled.

    Biker Dudes

Ben busted out the motorcycle last week! Partly because the van was in the shop so we needed transportation and partly because the weather was amazing.
The boys were dying to go for a ride and then continued to wear their helmets and ride THEIR BIKES!

I took it for a ride and about crashed on take off – But I got control and continued on as if I knew what I was doing and from there … No Stalling, no almost crashes, a good first ride around the neighborhood. Cali was itching for a ride but as soon as she heard the engine she was done. She did the same with the waverunners in St. George.

It’s 12:00 noon. Kid is still in pajama’s. Siblings are also not dressed. But, hey, he was having a blast, digging in the garden, coloring his diaper with chalk and his socks even match his shirt!

ps – 2pm, we are all dressed and presentable and look like a family that has it all together 🙂

a day with my 2 year old

it starts at 6:55am when he opens the bedroom door and comes to my side of the bed (no way will he go to dad’s side 🙂 ) I successfully ignore him for about 15 minutes until he climbs into bed with me. Problem is he doesn’t snuggle and try to sleep, once in the bed he wiggles and squirms and asks to be tickled and puts his hands in your face until you just can’t handle it anymore. By 7:30 I give up on sleep and head down to get him his milk, breakfast and show. Everyone else in the house can peacefully sleep until at least 8:00 but Packer usually manages a loud something on the way down stairs and wakes up at least one if not both of his siblings – then its triple milk and breakfast and the sleep is much harder to get back to. 🙁

Then throughout the day he entertains himself with toys and anything that a 2 year old might see as a toy. Packer is a mess maker! Really he loves to move things and organize and keep busy but for this mom that equals a lot of little messes to clean up. Here were a few of his activities the other day:

    Building a house of hangers

moving his books to this new shelf

and stacking each dish rag for a picnic

He is learning to play with his little sister and not just get mad at her. But they still have a hard time: Yesterday Cali was messing up his blocks so he threw a big fit and then finally came upstairs to find me and tell me, “You need to spank Cali’s little bum.” I think he has heard that phrase directed at him a few too many times!

lots of laughter during this game

and yesterday was a hard day because Benji was invited to a birthday party and Packer just didn’t understand why he didn’t get to go. He just wanted to go to the birthday. I felt bad for him and we talked about it and explained the situation but in the end he had to throw a few fits and be a sad boy.

    timeout in the kitchen

He is just outgrowing the toddler stage and is really looking forward to his 3rd birthday in April. He is our Mr Friendly. He loves to sit on anyones lap and read books. He loves to be tickled. And we love him, even with the messes and tantrums.

    SNOW BOARDING!

Ben and I went snow boarding Friday night!

I was going to put the pictures of all of our jumps and tricks but… well it was really cold so we didn’t get the camera out much and it was kind of dark since it was night skiing and oh yeah – we didn’t do any jumps or tricks! I think we barely made it down the mountain 5 times!! I still love it though. I love cruising down the mountain. I love that we have our own boards so we don’t have to rent and I love that Sundance is so cheap and SO CLOSE.

Today after church the boys found the snow goggles in the van – it was snowing a little so they had to go try them out. Aren’t they adorable!?

I love Sundays. I love the day I teach because then I am off for the next 3 to 4 weeks.  And I love that Cali was licking the ketchup off of her plate after dinner last night. Check it out…
