Today Benji woke up begging to make his Valentines so… WE DID.

and Packer is loving his Valentine guy that he made at Play Group Yesterday – His older brother is a little jealous so that helps.

And Uncle Joel came over this afternoon so we busted out a little racing…

We just got done playing the Ben 10 Game. Benji is very good at making the rules work to his advantage. Packer doesn’t care (yet).

The boys just went to play with their cousins and Cali is down for a nap. I guess I have no excuse not to work out. Tread mill and Biggest Loser here I come.

    Packer Telling Funny Jokes

Why did the elephant go on the roof?
Cause he wanted to eat a strawberry! haha

Why did the Lion go in the hole?
Cause he wanted to take a bath! haha

Why did the Koala Bear go on the Spaceship?
Cause he wanted a cookie! haha

I love it. He makes sure and waits for me to laugh after each one. If I don’t laugh he asks, “was that a funny one mom?”. It’s fun for me to hear what words and things are going on in his little mind.

I just posted about the other 2 children so this one goes out to Packer.

Here he is with his cousins that are 6 months older and 6 months younger. The 3 of them had a very hard time getting along. It really proved the terrible 2’s saying.

Packer: I wish you would take a nap once in a while.

Are you ready to go without a sippy or is that why you are grouchy today?

Packer loves his patterns and collections – I’m shocked every time he uses these words.

We dropped Benji off for school and I said bye and I love you and then from the back seat Packer chimes in, “We love you Benji.” He really can be sweet. And then on the way to the store he wanted to wait and so he could go with Benji. He really looks up to his older brother.

    todays update

Benji was playing hide and go seek with his Dad and Brother. They found him in the dryer and he had peed his pants!!! yes peed! I couldn’t stop laughing. He was hiding so he couldn’t get out cause he didn’t want to get found so he just had to go in the dryer!! He was worried that he was in big trouble but since he didn’t know that it was ok to get out and go then he was off the hook. Now he knows. Better not happen again.

During the Sacrament hymn: “Dad, this song is kind of scary.” It’s just slow. “No Dad, this one’s a little bit scary.” And he then refused to go up and sing with the primary for our Christmas Program. But he volunteered for another prayer in junior primary and he’s already given 2 talks in his first year of sunbeams.

I stopped by the mall last week and Santa was there taking pictures with all of the kids. As we walked by Benji says, “that’s a pretend Santa mom – not the real one.” I don’t know where he got that idea. I told him it just didn’t look like Santa because he wasn’t wearing his big red coat. I’m not sure if he bought it or just let it go. I think one of the problems is that 50% of Christmas Specials are about not believing in Santa – I think they have put these ideas in our young children’s heads – boo.

He also took the time to try and understand the game of football today!! that made both of his parents proud!! He could read the score and figure out which one was the Packers. It was neat to see his mind grasping all of this new knowledge.

Cali crawls in circles when she is happy. She also gets shy and squeezes her eyes shut in a real cute way. She stood up for 30 seconds yesterday! She can only do that when she doesn’t realize that she is doing it. We opened a present today and Cali got hers open quick – I think the birthday this month got her ready for Christmas morning. She is also very protective of her mom. She refuses to share my lap with either of her brothers and throws a giant fit until she gets her way.

Cali’s not so goods would be her bad habit of throwing her food on the ground when she is full and purposely feeding it to the dog! and the poop dripping out the back of her diaper this afternoon was not fun. I’m just glad it wasn’t at church. And on that same note I am averaging 4 stinky diapers a day from her! (add 4 from her older brother and you can see what I do all day.)

Packer disappeared after church – he spent an hour in with the nativity set and lined up all of the people and animals and was holding his little nursery handout and comparing the Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus. He wanted all of us to see that they matched.

He is getting so big – really outgrowing the baby stage all together. After Benji peed in the dryer he let me know that it is not good to do that. His biggest problem right now is fighting with his little sister. He gets mad when she grabs his toys or sits on the car mat. She is very grabby and Packer just can’t handle her in the middle of his games. So we are working on teaching both children to get along and play nicely together.

I love that Packer calls our Christmas Nut Cracker a Graham Cracker and he still calls our new Microwave a Microphone.

IMG_0949This is the best Christmas Decor. The kids love it and I think it really helps remind us what Christmas is all about.

Spent my Day in the Garage!

Today I am cleaning the garage. It has accumulated much junk over the summer and Ben hasn’t been able to park in the garage for 2 weeks now so it was time to get it under control. I was putting a few things in the rafters and Packer says, “Be careful Mom. Watch it up there.” What a sweet guy. I think he is enjoying being the big kid while Benji is at school.

For the weekend I got to go to San Diego for Linda’s memorial. It was neat to be there, to remember all she did in this life, to see the family that she raised, taught and loved, To hear the amazing stories of her life and to just be in her home with her things and surrounded by everything Linda. It was a beautiful memorial. I’m grateful I got to be there. She will be missed by many. Another friend of mine lost her Mother In Law this month and my uncle Claire passed away also. Things like this always make you stop and look at life and reevaluate what is most important. It makes you look at your own life and get things back on track.

Yesterday we went to Carls Jr because I had free kids meals for the boys. After playing in the play place Benji came out and told me that the girl in there called him a liar. “Did you lie to her?” I asked. “No. Why did that girl call me a liar? Did she think my name is liar?” Then after some thought he continued with, “That’s not a cute name. Noone’s name is liar. Why did she call me liar?”   This is my child. He wants to understand everything. Our days are still filled with WHYs.

Now Ben is having Scouts downstairs. He offered prizes to anyone that can beat my Mrs. Pacman score on our computer arcade! I will extend that challenge to any Pacman fans out there!! Packer and I are watching “Little People” for the umpteenth time. Cali has a cold and is maybe going to bed early tonight (fingers crossed). Benji is being one of the big kids with the scouts. And I have basketball tonight, just a pick up game at 9. My knee has been bothering me so I am anxious to run on it tonight.

Oh Yeah – And yesterday was Dentist day for me and the boys. I remember posting and making a big deal out of Benjis first trip to the dentist. 2nd child really does get past by on a few things. Packer was awesome, the dentist really wanted to know how I prepared a 2 year old so well because he held so still and let them do everything, even flouride. I was a proud Mom and Pack was excited for a new Power Ranger toothbrush. I did remember my camera…

    Monday Night

On Monday Night we actually had some time and energy so we had family home evening and then Dad set up his tent to make sure that it was good to go for Scout Camp next week and they got to sleep in it!! Cali did not want to miss out on the fun – she screamed more than usual in her bed not wanting to be up in her room. I ended up falling asleep in there too to help the boys fall asleep. They made it through the night though and it brought hours more entertainment the next morning.
