Packers Trip to the Cardiologist and more

Packer has had a heart murmur since birth but the Dr suggested we get it checked out just to have a better idea since he’s just a Family Practice Dr. So we went to Primary Children’s this afternoon and Packer did great and it turns out that its just your normal flow murmur that lots of kids have and usually outgrow around the age of 8 or 9. We were thinking that this was the case but its good to know and now there are no worries.

While there the Doctor asked if we were Green Bay Packer fans… I was bewildered that he could guess that by just a few seconds in the room with us. I looked around to see if any of us had on our Packer shirts or what the clue was… Anyway – the big clue was obviousdly our sons name! I’m a little slow these days in the brain strength category.

I’m glad that we had the test done and greatful that the results were exactly what we hoped to hear. My Father-in-Law actually had a minor heart attack this past week while they were here visiting, that was a little scary but he seems to be pulling through just fine. So we’ve had our share of Cardiologists for now.

I'm glad that I don't have to worry about my little Pac Man - being healthy is such a blessing - I have always taken our good health for granted but I am starting to understand how blessed I have been.

We said goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa Nettesheim yesterday. We had a lot of fun with them and were sad to see them leave. Luckily we get to see them in Wisconsin in a few weeks so goodbye wasn’t as hard this time.

It was 9pm-ish and Packer was struggling.

And here are our long lost friends… felt like we hadn’t seen the Hancocks in a long time. The kids were all happy to see each other on Sunday night and especially happy when Than played London Bridges, Duck Duck Goose, Cheep cheep, Red Light Green Light and Do as I’m Doing with them. Good Times.

    Time for Solids

Cali has been eyeing up our food lately so we busted out the rice cereal and applesauce. She loves it. Well, I should say that she loves the little bit that she can actually get down. She smacks her lips and chews on the spoon. My boys weren’t interested in solids this early so it’s fun.

    paint and swing

Now I know why we waited three and a half years before bringing paint into the lives of our children. IT IS A MESS! and I consider myself a laid back person but I just couldn’t handle Packer mixing the colors and not rinsing his brush and putting the black brush in the white paint, paint on the floor and nasty water all over -so I finally left the room so that they could actually enjoy the painting without mom interfering and teaching. When I came back in there was no longer a “white” paint and Packer had Blue hair!… Benji did pretty good but still a mess and definitely a parent monitored activity. Benji asks too use his “Painting” every day so we’ll see how long until mom gives in. The picture I took was obviously in the first minutes of the painting project – pre mess and pre blue hair!

Our other Project this morning was getting out the Baby Swing for Cali. Packer was a very big helper…

    Leaves, Lots of Leaves!

Benji getting burried in the big pile of leaves! He loved it!

Packers turn to get burried! Not so fun. But finding dad was fun!

    cousins

Some of the cousins came and played with us! After living here for 4 years we’ve finally figured out the best way to clean up the leaves of our humongous tree. We wait for all the leaves to fall – we spend one hour raking – we play in the leaves for an hour – and then we hall them out on a tarp to a truck and let the Elders Quorum hall them away 🙂

    Ninja Halloween!

Our Ninja and Our Ninja Turtle all dressed up, with no naps because they were too excited to sleep! We went to the PG City Park with Benji’s friend Avery  and then came home to eat pizza – because that’s what Ninja Turtles eat! – and wait for Dad so that we could go trick or treating!

Batman took the boys trick or treating around our neighborhood. Raphael wanted to come home after a little while but you can see that our other little Ninja begged to go back out and get more treats! After trick or treating all of the cousins came to our house to play – we forgot to ge our annual picture but we had a lot of fun.

Benji is already asking when Turkey Day is! and Ben has already found opportunities to play Christmas Music and re-introduce the story of The Grinch to Benji! These Nettys Love the Holidays!

    Chicken Wing

My boys have decided that they love these hats. They look so cute in them. I took them to a freezing cold softball tournament last Friday night (hence the chapped cheeks and lips) and they have been wearing the hats ever since. Yesterday was T-shirts, pants, and snow hats weather – I love it!

Last weekend we had Aunt Tracie and Uncle John come and stay with us for Tracies Birthday!! Ben and Benji were so excited to have them come 🙂 We played lots of fun Benji games and went to McDonalds and Chuck E Cheese inbetween softball games on Friday night ( i think our kids are spoiled! we did only spend 2$ at chuck e cheese so….). We went and played Raquetball and WallyBall on Saturday morning for Tracies party, Joel and Sean came too so that was fun!! I love having a big family! After that we had the BYU game .

    chicken wing happy birthday Tracie

Tracie lived with us before she got married and during that time she and Benji decided that they each call each other “Chicken Wing”. I don’t think it has any meaning or came from anything but it has definitely stuck. So this is Tracie’s Chicken Wing Cake and Benji calling her Chicken Wing and laughing. Lots of fun.

    Teething

Our kids get their teeth late. Packer has been a grouch this week and I discoved his right top moller is coming in and his third tooth on the bottom. This explains why he chewed on the baby teething toy all morning! Once these ones come in he’ll have 9 teeth!!

I just found another one on the bottom – so 10 teeth!

Packer and Benjijumping on the bed

Yesterday after naps, Packer (16 months) pulled on his diaper until I took it off.  Then he waddled into the bathroom and sat himself down on the little toilet. He had the biggest grin and new that he was being a big boy. Unfortunately he did not finish the task but it was very cute.

Then today after baths I was getting both boys dressed and Packer insisted (no he doesn’t talk yet but you know how babys can make their wants known) he insisted that I let him wear Benji’s Undies! So I had 2 happy boys in Thomas the Train Undies jumping on the bed!

    HOT PEPPERS

Saturdays garden loot and pepper eating. Benji and Dad always go to the garden to check on it and bring in the goods. Packer has decided that he doesn’t want to be left out but he has no control and picks everything that he sees and eats everything that he sees so he does not have garden privileges!
