    My 3 Babies

    IMG_20131007_193845

These 3 are little and require a lot of time and effort. 36 months, 20 months and 1 month! Some days I am in over my head. Lots of days I just have to realize that  the house is going  to get messier rather than cleaner. When they do nap it is rarely at the same time and then I have a pre-schooler, 1st grader and 3rd grader that need love, attention, help with home work and the older 3 also know how to make messes. I’m hoping we find a routine in the next little while but in the mean time we do have a messy house and there is chaos behind our new chocolate brown door 🙂 and YES, I do have my hands full!

(and I do feel the need to accompany this post with how cute and adorable and precious and worthwhile these kids are BUT that’s what every other post is for.)

    Raymond’s First Haircut

Raymond Thomas has been over due for a haircut. His curls were cute but crazy and his hair went halfway down his back when it was wet. We kept putting off the haircut for 2 reasons. 1. They look so much older with it cut and we didn’t want our baby to be a big boy quite yet. 2. We were nervous if he would actually sit still long enough to cut it – I kept picturing a halfway cut head and crazy tantrums. We are happy to report that he loved being big and getting his hair cut like his brothers.

After a NOT restful night I was feeling better. I put everything on hold and sat on the couch all day with my babies.

Raymond has had the hardest time adjusting to the new baby. He gets a little grumpy so I am trying to make sure and give him snuggle time. He has been Mr SLEEPer for the last month or two. By that I mean that he has been sleeping in until 9 or 10. Then he naps in the afternoon for at least 3 hours and sometimes more. I usually have to go in and wake him up. Then he goes to sleep around 9:00 when the other boys do. I just haven’t had a kid that sleeps this much  but I am enjoying it while it lasts.

Sunday morning! who is ready for some football? Raymond was so proud when I put his Packer’s clothes on. He hurried down stairs and yelled “Football” at Ben for 10 minutes. He is not a good talker but he really wanted Dad to see that he had his football clothes on 🙂 Then Rose needed her jersey of course. The 3 of us and Millie stayed home from church and away from all of the germs. I rested a little and cleaned A LOT – how do things get so messy so fast… and when does the magic toilet cleaning fairy ever come?? I know –  Never – So I cleaned too much on Sunday and ended up getting sick that night. I was playing with the kids after dinner and then all of a sudden it was too much. I was achy and tired and realized that I had MASTITIS! Boo! I went to bed. Took the baby with me and let Ben handle the rest of the chaos.

    FOOTBALL!

Soccer Saturdays are in full swing. Packer and Cali both had 9am games so… Ben had to go coach Packer’s team and I got to take the other 5 kids to Cali’s game 🙂 Luckily Mia and Cali are on the same team and LUCKIER, Michelle insists on helping me with the kids. I am happy that she insists and the help is much needed. We all went to Benji’s game later and then napped and watched some bad football.

Millie loves the pacifier. She came out of the womb sucking and hasn’t really stopped. If she is awake she is usually looking for the paci. The kids love it because they LOVE to be the one to give her the Paci and “help” her. The husband also loves it because it calms her down and allows him to be helpful. I like it but it is hard to tell when when actually wants to eat.

Friday afternoon uncle Matt came by and gave all of the kids a ride in the ‘toy’ car. He had rented it for the day and the kids thought it was awesome.

Friday evening was the School Fun Run. Our kids love this even though they don’t love to run. Ben ran with the kids this year and Millie and I met them at the end. We chilled with Matt and Jamie’s family afterwards and ate pizza. Benji says “it was the best running thing ever!” Packer says, “it was fun because I beat all of my whole family again and I got a candy medal!”

Then we came home and examined our newly flattened yard and tried to picture some finished landscaping. LaNell and Michelle were over and the 30 minutes in the back yard resulted in baths for all kids and dogs.

Millie is 1 week old! My body recovered wonderfully after this delivery. I really am amazed at the process. I’ve done it six times but it is still magical and marvelous. We were a little bit antsy on Wednesday. Kids were feeling cooped up and the weather was just starting to cool off. But Aunt Christy called and the kids decided they needed to draw pictures for her and that helped us get through the day. Friends from our new ward brought dinner and that was great. I really am so grateful because dinner time is my least favorite time of the day.

Tuesday morning my mom had to leave. It’s hard to say goodbye because she is awesome at “helping”. She just see’s what needs to be done and she does it. Sometimes that is house work, sometimes food or playing with kids… she can do it all. (then i have energy to party with all of the fam that come with her). I missed my nap time and was pretty grumpy in the kitchen trying to make dinner with fussy and fighting kids when Ben got home from work… he’s experienced enough to recognize the situation and jump in and help me. We survived. That night was Dad Time for Packer… he and Ben went to a park and made a collection and enjoyed some one on one time.

    I LOVE THESE SMILES

Raymond goes to his second week of Nursery at church today! I have to admit I am a little bit giddy. He is very hard to keep quiet and contained for 3 hours so getting him off to nursery will be wonderful… hopefully he adjusts quickly, I know Ben and I will 🙂

    25 Days

Baby #6 is due in 25 days! I’m to the point of hoping she comes early and quickly because I could probably be more productive with a new born than with this Large (in pain) Body! My girls are always kissing my tummy and asking questions about their little sister and wondering about when they were in my tummy. Ray says baby but is clueless. The boys are excited but they are more excited for school to start, at least they know that will happen first and then the baby might come.

I’ve started my weekly check ups at the Dr! fun fun! I took Raymond with me today and he does have Croup. We’ve started some meds and he is already breathing a lot better. He has an ear infection to go with it. Baby Gertrude checked out fine. She has been head down for forever and she is doing some yoga as I type this. I can’t believe we are adding another child to this chaos but I am really excited to meet her and be her mom.

This picture just makes me laugh. LaNell has turned into the Dog Whisperer now that she has her own puppy:

Other news: we got our first email from Sister Kelsey Robertson! MTC life is going well and she is already learning a TON, longest but most amazing week!

…I am so ready to be done with the 6am framers. We have a home next to us and behind us being built and so the early morning pounding and nail guns are driving me crazy.

…We really want a yard! Anyone want to come make me one? I will pay.

Look at this picture… when will these boys realize that they are too big!? They were offended when I told them so.

Summer is winding down. It was a great summer. We moved, we swam, we vacationed, we had visitors come, we vacationed some more, we played with cousins next door, REPEAT all. It went so fast. We made the most of it and enjoyed it. I finally implemented a chore chart this last week and it is amazing. Should have done that the day we moved in but… live and learn. Our kids respond to charts and routine and they are finally learning to be helpful – yea!
