The END of JULY 2016

When we got back from our trip Ben had to head to the new office in Draper. His 7 minute commute is now 30-40 minutes 🙁 and he doesn’t come home for lunch anymore 🙁 The last 3 weeks have been a bit of an adjustment but we are surviving.

The kids were happy to spend time with the Hancocks. Erica even let them paint so they were in heaven. The next day they came to our house and did a Captain Hook and Tinkerbell Play.

And we got a fence!! It took them 3 or 4 days to do our place and 3 of the neighbors. I think it looks great and we are enjoying the privacy.

Ben and I got to go to cousin Mandy’s wedding up at Snow Bird Resort! We visited with lots of cousins and family, ate and danced and had a super fun night.

The next day on Sunday we had Kelsey over and spoiled her for her birthday, especially since she had watched all of the kids for like 8 hours during the wedding. fried Chicken and Chocolate Cake with Homemade Oreo Ice cream. That’s how we spoil around here 🙂

after our camping trip we headed up to Oroville! We stopped at my parents place in Sacramento to shower and then we hurried to Chico to go to Hula’s. On Saturday we played ALL DAY. We ate breakfast on the back patio and swam and played darts and board games and hot tubbed. Kevin and Liz have a great pool and set up and we were all entertained.

That evening we drove to Olive Hurst to see Ryan and Mary’s new house! We ate pizza and played games and visited with the McOmbers. We stayed the night there with Shannon, Sean and Kelsey. And then we slept almost the whole drive home!! poor Ben had to drive and the rest of us just crashed. We only stopped 2 times! the second one was in Salt Lake to drop Shannon off and eat dinner.

Redwoods! and Santa Cruz!

We camped at the Henry Cowell Redwoods Campground from July 18th-22nd – Monday through Friday. I love camping with my family. They seem to have it down to an art form. My parents plan all of the meals and bring the food. We make one big kitchen area. Mom makes a cooking and cleaning schedule so everyone knows when it’s their turn to help. And then we just relax and game and chat and build fires and enjoy the trees and beauty.

Tiago and Millie woke me up at 6 or 7 every morning. We played in the dirt and put up the Slackoline for a few hours before we got told to take it down.

We spent Tuesday at SEACLIFF BEACH. We had a blast:

On Wednesday we went and spent the day at the Sand Dunes and Beach:

Tiago stayed close to the snack box and was very happy. The lifeguard came to warn us about the under toe. We made some mermaids and found Ray hiding in the Can Jam.

Wednesday Night was a family TALENT SHOW! Some of teh kids did a few skits. Benji and Jaydn did card tricks, Ray played Twinkle Twinkle on his mouth horn, the girls danced adn drew pictures and Cali and I did a skit with Liz and Ella.

Thursday was our chill day. We stayed in camp all morning:

And we got to the Beach Boardwalk at 5pm to get our unlimited ride passes! We went non stop from 5-11pm. Starting with the Carousel that we loved as kids because you can throw rings at the clown!

Braden leaves for his Mission to Brazil!

Next up we drove to California to say goodbye to our nephew Braden and to camp with the family! Braden gave a great talk and we all crashed at their place for Saturday night and Sunday and said Goodbye Monday morning. He is in the Missionary Training Center in Sao Paulo Brazil (CTM). Ben and I are excited for him to learn our language and our people 🙂

Country Fan Fest

We went to CFF 2016 in Tooele this year! My cousins help run Country Fan Fest so they got us all weekend wristbands and we loaded up the kids and headed to Tooele with Josh and all of our kids and Trailers…

We borrowed Than and Ericas RV!! It was a great/Easy way to camp. Bathroom! Kitchen Sink! Beds! electricity, no set up. We really did like it.

Thursday night they had a campground concert so it was right in camp. We listened to a band and then put the kids to bed and came back for Royal Bliss. I went to bed before the midnight show though 🙂

Day 2. Friday morning we got up and walked over for a pancake breakfast. Then we got swim suits on and headed over to the pool for the day.

We left the party that night a little early because we were driving to Hollister CA the next morning but it was a FUN 2 days.

July 5th-13th, Mal and kids!

July 5th and 6th were our 2 days without cousins staying with us. We went to the PG pool with Utah cousins and we went to the Dentist and then to Ben’s work party before Mal and her kids came for the week.

We had another fun Filled week with Cousins. The whole time Mal was keeping secrets from us. It’s Fun to spend one on one time with different families in our families!! Meanwhile in real life: Ben said goodbye to his old office in PG and hello to this new one in Draper. And Benji went to his first 11 year old Scout Meeting!

Hanging with Ryan, Mary and her 3 kids

Ryan and Mary and Gavin, Porter, and Clara came on June 24th and then stayed until July 4th! Tay, Ky, Mar, and Brin were with their mom for the first part of the summer and Ryan and Mary came to pick them up. We had some lazy days and some good getting to know the new cousins time. Mary has family here in Utah so we split our time with them. We did get in some good gaming.

AF Canyon Campout and the Thal’s

Back on June 23rd Sean and Erika and there kids came to play! They stayed the night and then we all went up American Fork Canyon. Tibble Fork was closed so we just went out to the area that we wanted to camp and set up camp and ate and played.

Cousin Luke

My COUSIN LUKE has a son named River. We keep seeing Luke and River at the baseball fields when we go to Cali’s games. River came over to play the other day and then we went to ‘their’ house to see the baby puppies!

Did you know aunt Carol has a fancy tether ball pole? I was envious. Strong enough for the kids to climb.

and then Luke came home and showed us the chickens and the goat. And we watched the little dog play soccer and the other 3 dogs fight over every fetching stick in the yard!

Turned into a good spur of the moment day with family 🙂

Margaret Wines Park with the Robertsons

We went to the park on Friday night and hung out with my family. Joel and Megan, Sean and Jana, Shannon and cousin Megan and her friend Mindy. That’s our Utah crew right now while Kelsey tours Thailand. We had a blast. I loved being at that park with the big mature trees and throwing a ball and hanging with family and Joel and Megan made us a delicious dinner and … Summer is Awesome! Really 5 hours of FUN.
