We drove to Pioneer California on Saturday July 25th – we played all week – and drove back home on Saturday August 1st.

The cabin doesn’t have cell phone service and there is no internet! It was nice to be phone free and enjoy the family and nature.

  

Christy and Rob own the cabin. It has 5 bedrooms, 2 lofts, a kitchen, 2 main living areas, and a big deck. At one point during the week we did have all 47 of us there!! (and yes, we did fit in a morning of family picture taking) And Yes, Some people slept in tents.

You can’t have a Robertson reunion without Mother Robertson’s chore chart! She assigns all of us to help with different breakfasts or dinners and Clean Up is also assigned. She also plans all of the breakfast and Dinner food and brings it to the cabin for us! We then split the bill among the families. This year we all brought snacks and lunch stuff to share. Needless to say we ATE and ATE and ATE.

The cabin doesn’t have Air Conditioning so we spent most of our days away at a lake or river to stay cool.

Mother Robertson wanted to make sure that everyone was sufficiently entertained during the week so we were all assigned to come prepared with an activity for everyone to participate in! we were never bored. We all had a blast. Mom did a princess play for the girls complete with daily rehearsals, Dad did a compass treasure hunt, Christy and Rob put up a zipline at the cabin – I didn’t get any pictures of it though :(, Michael skipped out, Ryan did a kids treasure hunt, Kevin and Liz did face painting, Ben and I introduced 1 night Werewolf and Ben read a book to all the kids, Josh and Mal did the Tie Dye Shirts and set up a bbgun shooting area, Joel and Megan brought family feud and we played every night, Tracie and John did a painting contest and Disc Golf, Brady skipped out, Shannon did manicures and pedicures to all that wanted them, Sean taught us Spikeball, and Kelsey made us play Jin Ju wars or something like that :). See – – it was busy 🙂

When my mom comes to town that usually means other Robertson’s will also be coming to town. This month has not disappointed: MOm brought Tracie and Kelsey with her. Ryan dropped his girls off with Joel and Megan for the week. Michael happened to be in the area after a trip to Yellowstone. Shannon came down to play with us. Liz and her kids came for a night and Sean and Brady made a few appearances! I love this family!

 

My kids were sufficiently entertained. REALLY, THEY HAD A BLAST. And I was able to relax and enjoy the week and not lose my patience. Thank you family for all of your help.

Mom and Tracie and Kelsey and Michael and Megan all helped take my kids to the splash pad. I went and sat in the shade and let everyone else feed and chase my kids. They had a blast with lots of cousins:

Tiago Ford Nettesheim is named after my Grandpa: Arden Ford Johnson.

My mom came to help when Tiago was born! She was on a tight schedule again this year. She’s getting harder to schedule with all of my other siblings fighting for mom time and babysitting and her friends think they like to go on vacations and this year her parents needed to take her on a cruise in June. She came saturday night the 6th and went home friday morning the 12th.

It ended up being good timing for me. She came on Saturday night when we had been home a few days and started to get settled and the neighbors had brought us food and … then I just let her take over… and let Ben go back to work and gave all my Netty family a little break.

    

I love having my mom around. She has so much energy she puts me to shame. She comes in and makes the motherhood job look easy! She cooks and cleans and plays with the kids and with me 🙂 I’m grateful that she makes a point to come each time we have a baby.

We got home from St. George and had family already at the house!! SO we jumped right into the Robertson Family Week:

Monday the 13th – we hung out with Tracie and Kelsey and Bren and Cedar. We had a pizza party that evening with mom and the grandparents and some extended family.

 

Tuesday – we played all morning and then went down to grandma and grandpa great’s house for a stairwell picnic.

 

Wednesday – Josh and Mal came to visit! We added their 4 kids to the fun and kept on playing! We got to meet baby Laynie! She is so cute and snuggly.

Mom said goodbye to her parents and came and spent the last night with us and made us some homemade ice cream!

 

We all stayed up until 1am waiting to see Kelsey come home with Dreads in her hair!! She got professional dreads – and she loves them!

Thursday: we said goodbye to Grandma and Kelsey and Tracie and Bren and Cedar. And the party continued with Scar, Payton, Kins and Baby Gus… That night I went to dinner with Josh and Joel and Megan and Cousin Luke.

 

On Friday Josh and Mal went up to Logan for a wedding so we made the kids go to bed and catch up on some sleep.

Saturday April 18th was our first soccer Saturday for the season. The kids had games at 10, 1, and 2 and then Ben and I went to the RSL game that night at 7:30.

Sunday after church we had a bunch of family over again! Ryan and his kids, Josh and kids, Joel and kid, Brady, Shannon, and Sean.

Millie wanted to be a baby like Gus and Laynie 🙂

Monday was the cousins last day with us. We played hard and held the baby and chilled with Mal while Josh was sick on the couch.

It was a fun and exhausting week. I fully admit to crashing the next day and doing nothing. Having a big family has kept us super busy this year. I love that everyone loves to be together and everyone makes the effort to come and hang out if anyone is in town or wanting to get together.

Kelsey came out to Utah for a few days! She let Mom and Tracie, Bren and Cedar bring her. We hung out with them on Wednesday through Sunday! We ended up doing a few projects around my house 🙂 and we supported Brady and Sean in their athletics, and we let Ryan and Shannon come play with us, and we decided that Dad and John should come for the weekend! and we all spent Sunday with Baby Gus and his parents for his blessing!
