The House
We rented the Goodfellow house just outside of Kanab and it was the perfect place for all of us to eat, sleep, SWIM, and play. We got their on Wednesday, celebrated the 4th on Thursday, had reunion activities on Friday and Saturday and came home Sunday.
The next several posts will detail our trip! – – read on…
We got up and packed and checked out of the hotel. We were heading up to Northern CA to my parents house. With no desire to start that drive we decided to go to Down Town Disney with the Hancocks. Than convinced us that we needed to try Princess Tiana’s donuts – Beignets. They were yummy. Then we played at the Lego Store for a while before saying goodbye and starting the long drive north.
We got to my parents house at 9:00ish and hung out with family and stayed up late catching up with everyone and being silly. The next day was Joel and Megans Oroville reception in my parents back yard so we spent the morning prepping the house and yard and food. Next we snuck over to the family favorite – HULA’s Mongolian BBQ. Then back home to get pretty and enjoy the evening with family and friends. I love that Megan took time to make the girls hair pretty – she was so not worried about herself. I loved seeing good friends. I love being with family.
We had to leave the next morning to drive home. The last place we wanted to be was in the van AGAIN but we made it another 11 hours in the car. LaNell and Kelsey and Moki carpooled behind us. And it is always good to be home – when you finally get there and crash.
We loved our SPRING BREAK. It was a great trip. We are really blessed to be able to do that kind of long vacation. If you didn’t quite get enough Disney then check out Erica’s blog – she did a good job of capturing the magic 🙂 – – http://thananderica.blogspot.com/2013/05/disneyland.html
So we had family start coming on Monday and everyone was here by Friday and Joel got married on Saturday and then Sunday was EASTER! It snuck up on all of us but we made the most of it. We went to church and had a family dinner. We made time for an egg hunt the Friday before and enjoyed the day with family.
Joel is married. She is wonderful. He is happy.
The wedding was Saturday the 30th! The Sealing was at 3pm and dinner at 7pm. We spent the morning eating breakfast and getting beautiful. After the ceremony we did pictures and ice cream. The dinner was in Cedar Hills with about 250 family and friends. Lots of our extended family and cousins were there and all of the Robertson crew. It was lots of fun to see everyone and celebrate Joel getting married. We are so happy for him and excited to have Megan in our family. It was so fun to be together with the whole family and to have everyone come stay with us here in Utah County.
Hopefully Josh will make a nice poster for us like last time but this will have to do for now. Everyone went to the movie on Friday night after dinner with Joel and Megan and her family. Joel was sick. I stayed home to help babysit and beat my parents in Nertz.
We finally had some nice weather and went to the park a few times and just LOVED being outside. It has been the longest winter that I have lived through.
We went to a surprise party for my brother in law. Happy 30th Schyleur!
A leprechaun stopped to use our toilet!
Rose went overboard on the makeup and then got mad and sad when she realized she messed up.
I had horrible cards for both games of Rook. No chance of calling or being the partner.
We inherited some wave runners! Not sure if they work or not but they have been on my dream list for forever.
And last night my sister Kelsey opened her mission call at our house. We had all of the family on google hangout and everyone that could make it came and it was super fun. She is gong to Taiwan, Taipei on August 7th! We’re excited for her and proud of her decision to go and serve.
I thought I posted this last week – oops…
this is us trying to make Cedar and Ray play together – or atleast get a pic together
Tracie and Cedar spent the night so Brady, Sean and Kelsey did too. We had a pretty lazy morning hanging out and then we all went down to the Golden Coral at 1:00. We planned a little luncheon for Grandma Johnson’s Birthday. Diane, Sasha, and Jer all met us there. We had fun eating and chatting.
After lunch I had to get home to get the kids from school and Tracie had to grab her things and head over to the in-laws to play with them. The college kids needed to resume their usual schedule as well. It was super fun playing with family on a monday and tuesday. We are happy that Tracie got to come visit. The kids and I had a simple dinner and a lazy evening and were excited when Ben got home that night.
