    More Weekend Fun

Saturday we had Benji’s soccer game at 10am and then Ben and I had a game at 11:25. I need to mention the game because … I HAD THE WINNING GOAL!! (that doesn’t happen often so it needs to be documented!) We were down 5 to 1 in the game and our team slowly started coming back. Jay had an awesome PK to tie it at 5-5. David pulled a blue card but saved a goal so we played through that. They had a missed PK but did score on another so it was 5-6 them and with a minute left Meagan dribbles down the middle, someone is streaking the left, I’m on her right, David yells at me to go middle. I do. I get the pass and nailed the shot in the upper left corner! 37 seconds to go and girl goals are worth 2 points so we WIN 7 to 6!! ahhhhh. That was a good time to finally make a shot and maybe a good time to retire this pregnant body – or maybe I can finish out the last few games 🙂

After soccer we had plans to meet up with my brothers in Levan – so we packed up the family van and headed that way. We spent the afternoon and evening with Ryan and Tara and Joel. And the kids spent it with Ryan’s 4 kids playing like crazy. Bumper Pool, Dominion, Spades, Pizza, Rock Band, Joel’s Famous, Euchre, and Soda!! We stayed until 11:30pm before making ourselves leave. And I had to run and say goodbye to all of the women’s conferencers that night. I was trying to catch my sister in law but that didn’t happen, whatever Liz! 🙂

    Bumper Pool - I think I won!

    Hanging out with cousins

Cali trying to be big like Taylee, Marlee, and Brinlee.

The next morning was baby blessing Sunday. We miraculously made it to Christians blessing on time and headed over to Pete and Amanda’s that afternoon to eat, I mean to visit 🙂 My brother also blessed his baby Scarlett that morning in California, Brigette and Evan blessed Davis (see Womens Conf pic) and we had one blessed in our ward.

And that was ONE FUN WEEKEND!

    Tracie and John

My sister Tracie and her husband John moved to Alaska back in August… and we haven’t seen them since –

a week or two before they moved

Technically I did give Tracie a ride to the airport at Christmas so I saw her for 45 minutes. Anyway – they were going to come say hi to us this weekend but all of the flights were full :(. We were going to rock climb, play some dominion, eat homemade ice cream…. and the kids always love it – you know how it is – the fun aunt and uncle before they have any kids of their own so they have all of the energy and time to be Super Fun. We were bummed when they called early Friday morning to say they didn’t make it.

We had a work weekend instead. Ben was up early Saturday morning working on a side project and then we got the lawn mowed before heading to Benji’s soccer game. Where we need to document his first… dribble!! No – not a goal, but he actually kicked the ball 3 times in a row on purpose. The whole sidelines erupted with cheers. I guess Ben and I are not the only ones that have noticed his tendency to step backwards when the ball comes towards him 🙂

    The Soccer Dribbler!

After the game we pulled up to our unkept yard and beautiful weather and just started working. I weeded and then Ben put new bark in all of our flower beds! It looks way better and was way over due. Anyway, we missed Tracie and John and hope they get to come soon but we ended up with a fun and productive weekend.

a little glimpse of the new bark

And this is the cute shirt that Tracie made for Cali!  I went through her wardrobe and found some summer clothes and specifically some bigger shirts to cover her big belly 🙂

    Another Busy 10 Days

My mom and Brady drove out here last Wednesday: Brady needed to come see all of us Utah people and tell us about his mission and my Mom got to come pick up her mom here in Orem for a birthday trip to Alaska! We loved having family here and getting to play everyday. Without giving a day by day, here are some of the details: The kids loved all of the attention from Uncle Brady and Uncle Joel. We played sooo many games of Dominion – we may have ODed, maybe not though – I’d play right now if anyone wants to 🙂

Brady has that missionary spirit about him still – he was very kind and helpful the whole time he was here. He took the boys to the Park and wore them out. They came home telling me how high Brady could kick the soccer ball – impressed. And Cali even liked him.

We went geo-caching for family home evening. I have no pics but I wanted to document it because it was the first time that the boys really got into it. They were on a treasure hunt and so excited to find the treasure and a few “dinosaur” bones along the way. And who knew that the Maceys frozen yogurt is as good and as good of a deal as their soft serve.

no pictures at Maceys but these are from our picnic in our living room yesterday…

Mikila also visited over the weekend and got sucked into the Dominion Games, the Hancock’s got sucked in to. BYU lost to New Mexico 🙁 but we dominated our soccer game, everyone scored! On Tuesday I went to the airport and picked up mom and Grandma from their Alaska trip. That night we had all of Mom’s family over to our house!! And my brother and his family came down from Eden so we had a super fun Pizza Party and got all of the details about Grandma riding the dog sled in Anchorage 🙂

Mom and Brady left on Wednesday so we got our day to relax and catch up on sleep. Oh yeah – and we got a new niece on the 1st of March!

Today has been fun. There was no school so we went to the Lehi pool with the Falabella’s and the Hancock’s. I drug all 3 of my kids around with life jackets on and we really had a good time. I REALLY need to teach them how to swim though or I need an extra arm. Benji has improved so much since last summer and Cali is a water baby. She just took off in the baby pool. Packer was my lap child today – probably because some kid thought it would be fun to nail him with that water shooter right when we walked in and were putting our stuff down. He was nervous the whole time after that 🙁 oh well.

And then we came home in time to build Jolly the Snowman at lunch time with Dad! Winter is here and so is the weekend. Should be a fun relaxing one.

    Happy Birthday Ryan

Today is my brother Ryan’s birthday. He is three and a half years older than me which means that when I started high school he was a big Senior. So my friends and I would try and do whatever he thought was cool. I’m glad those days are over! But We made our yearly trip to Eden for his birthday. We had a great time, the Salsa was delicious and I’m sure anyone that knows Ryan can guess what we did….

Joel signing the box. He had the winning-est night.

Cali screamed and whined the entire time – blahh… hoping this stage ends soon.

Shout Out to Elder Brady Robertson

My little brother Brady is coming home from his mission in 2 and 1/2 weeks. He has been an excellent missionary. I love reading his weekly emails. He has had great success in North Carolina. The best thing about him is that he is just being himself and using very crazy ways to get peoples attention and get a chance to meet them and teach them. I wish I could have been as good of a missionary as he is being.  We are excited for him to meet Cali and excited for him to be with us again. He brings a lot of fun wherever he goes. Brady if you read this in a few weeks we are counting on you making a road trip to see us.

Luckily I have another little brother – that decided he could cut his hair and be a missionary too

Elder Sean Robertson July 22, 2009

All 7 of my brothers chose to serve missions. They each have been great examples to me as I have watched them leave and come back and grow up and change and gain testimonies. I have watched my mom send each of them off and that is a testimony in itself. They served in Canada, Spain, 2 in the Philippines, Alaska, North Carolina and Texas. I am grateful for the message of the restored gospel. I know that it is true. I know that it is a message for all of the world.

    Games, Food and Sports

Games, Food, and Sports would pretty much summarize our Christmas Vacation. We drove to California the day after Christmas and stayed for the week. Ten of the twelve Tom and Annette kids were home for the Holiday – the two missing are serving missions so we were actually happy not to have them! Again – we played games, like Dominion, Hand and Foot, Nertz, Ticket to Ride and the Name game. We played a lot of soccer – even got to play on the new turf downtown that my brother Kevin has been the architect for the rebuild. And we always eat way to much, I love this part because I am never in the kitchen but there is always good food (thnx mom).

    The Hand and Foot Game

Here is a game of Hand and Foot!

    New Years Day Dinner!

    HULA’s – this is a Robertson favorite!

    Soccer on the new field

The whole Crew - except Ben is taking the picture and John and Tracie and Joel weren't there either.

Cali wants in on the action

Flag Football, we've got enough for a game just with the family!

in between the sports, games and eating we did:

    a little dress up…

    organized Mom’s grandkid wall…

    Celebrated the New Year…

Took pictures of Kelsey – she’s the baby – A Senior!

And we opened a few gifts…

    Halloween is over!

Looks like my blog has had a broken link for a while – sorry to all of my faithful readers that check everyday and were so distraught with the mistake!

Halloween was over because Packer broke Bob the Bird and was very sad and told me that Halloween was over now. Very sweet. Since that day we have had a broken “something”, ie candy bowl, scary hand… each day. We might not make it through this holiday with any of our decor left.

    I haven’t been a great blogger because:

    a) we had family in town over the weekend.

    b) I have been reading a book.

    c) I have discovered BOGGLE on the computer.

    d) I now own a HOT TUB!

WE HAD AN AWESOME CONFERENCE WEEKEND! My dad came to visit. And then Ryan, Joel and Shannon all came! And conference weekend is already the best so it was great. Dad was here to get my hot tub working! It was a 100$ tub that my dad got, brought out here from California and now with a few more dollars and a little work I was able to come home from basketball last night and soak in my tub – awwwee – so nice. I think I slept better too. The kids LOVE it too. We have gone “swimming” everyday and Cali even gets giddy when I get her swim diaper on her!

the hot tub is making us all a little tired

the hot tub is making us all a little tired

We played a few games over the weekend and I loved it. I love to game. Even when I don’t win. We played Aquaretto, Hand and Foot, Nertz, Hearts, and Settlers. Now everyone has gone home and I still want to play games… if any of my neighbors ever need to play a game I am always here – open invitation. In the mean time I have resorted to BOGGLE on the computer. Its fun and only 3 minutes a game if you have the will power to stop!

Here are pics of the yard. In July we extended our slab of cement in the back into a patio and we also cemented the side of the house/RV pad – no plans for an RV but we felt like it was wasted space and we are loving the cement there. Then we turned the sandbox into a hot tub pad and now we are set. I love the changes. Now I am working on getting Ben ready for another project or 2.

and when the Packers play against Brett Favre in MOnday NIght Football then it feels like MOnday is part of your weekend too. It was a rough loss BUT we enjoyed the game. I am still addicted to football this season but I am making an extra effort not to watch too many games in one weekend.

and Cali wore shoes for the first time ever! what a cutie. And I seem to have an excess of Halloween clothes in her size so she has been in a lot of orange and black already! lucky kid

    FORT BRAGG CALIFORNIA

We had an awesome Labor Day weekend camping at MacKerricher State Park. I went every year as a kid so it was nostalgic to be there and to share that with Ben and the kids. Most of my siblings and their families were also there – we ordered brown sweatshirts and had a mini reunion. And a number of families that we grew up with also came with their families so it was second generation Fort Bragg trip and it was pretty neat to be there with EVERYONE.

    G.I. Joe

While on our trip in California the Movie “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” came out. I grew up playing GI Joe with my brothers (no Barbies here), we even had our own GI Joe club, with code names, cards, abilities and missions. My brother Josh collects these origional GI Joes as a hobby and he really knows everything about them! So for the premiere we all dressed up as one of the GI Joes and then went down to the midnight showing. We had a lot of fun dressing up and the movie was Good. I’ll be watching it again. Here we are in our Joe get up…
