The 2nd Trip to Oroville ( june 2008)
I also got to spend more time than usual with friends and that was fun to play with them again. Really the only down fall of the month has been the 14 of 21 days that I was away from my husband. Contrary to what Mikila might tell you I am still very much in love with him and missed him a ton. 🙂
Some of the Robertson Families:
Some fun things I learned on my vacation: Anika taught me that a PT Cruiser might cost you 100,000 dollars! LaNell who has swim suit issues: would like me to tell the swim suit makers of the world that we would like to keep those things in close to us and not hanging out for all to see 🙂 I was impressed with Kevins goal that he scored in his soccer game BUT not surprised when he showed up limping on a Fat ankle the next day – maybe the over 30 club really can’t handle competitive soccer any more! Most of all I learned that I still have really good friends that go all the way back to primary and Junior high days – and I am determined to get us all together for a Lake Oroville camping trip next summer. Lets do this!
Our First Trip to Oroville ( this Month)
The Graduates: Las Plumas Class of 2008. Shannon was Co-class President and MC at the graduation. Sean was Top Ten in his class. Congratulations guys! We Loved Being There for it.
Packer spent most of his time right here on Grandma’s front porch. His cousins Payton and Carter joined him often. He was entertained by Triskit the Mouse, The Flying Pig, and the flowers. He also decided that if anyone left the house then he wanted to leave also. This made it tough because someone was always leaving, needless to say he learned to throw some good fits.
Benji’s favorite part was going in the Hot Tub. We used it like a swimming pool and Benji did some of his best swimming. He would see his cousins do some cool jumps and back flops and would follow right along with them. Good swimming Benj!
Month of May
Packer made the big move to a Big Boy Carseat and is loving it. We love watching him dance in the car.
My brother Josh and his wife Mallory and Baby Payton came to visit at the beginning of the month! You might note that their 6 month old is the same size as our 1 year old – hmmm – -maybe we are short parents 🙂
Summer is finally here so we spent a Saturday in the yard getting it cleaned up and “making the sand box cool”. Benji and Packer are loving the sand box and as long as I don’t mind Packer eating all of the sand then it is hours of unsupervised fun.
Ben has been waiting for the weather to warm up so that he could get the garden started. It’s been a little rough with bad weather, the dog chewing the soaker hoses and some sort of animal has taken a liking to all of the pumpkin plants so few have survived :( But … we are determined to have a salsa garden and a few pumpkins at Halloween 🙂 Good work Ben and happy 33rd Birthday!
I got a new Vacuum! A Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum – I love it and I love that it actually gets the Dog Hair out of my house!
May 16th and 17th was our ward father and sons campout! I tried to convince Ben to take BOTH of his sons but he didn’t quite go for that. So Benji and Dad went to the little Sahara desert and had a good time in the sand dunes. Though I did hear that on the way home Benji said “Dad, that was fun, but next time Mom should come too.” How sweet. It was less than 24 hours but Packer and I missed them.
Benji PLayed Flashlights in the tent for a good 45 minutes before falling asleep 🙂
We might need a bigger pool this summer…
We spent a day at Yuba Lake with Erica and Pacen and Camry Hancock. It was a fun day – good picnic, warm water, mostly happy kids but it was a little stinky and got windy when it was time to go. So we’re still looking for a good lake and wishing we lived by Lake Oroville – what a beautiful and perfect swimming lake – I miss it 🙁
That was our month. Today was the last day of school so the neighbor girls came to see if Benji and Packer wanted to come ride bikes and play in the Cul-de-sac 🙂 and my sister-in-law Jamie had a baby this morning! A girl! Number 5! No name yet 🙂

Our Week In Oroville
I forgot to take more pictures when I left but we got a lot done and there are still crews working this week so I post these pics not to embarrass the fam but to remind them what it looked like when we started and motivate to finish!
Snow Fort
On Presidents Day we had a big Robertson family play in the snow day: my sister Christy and her husband Rob and kids Shaelyn, Braden, Bryce, Camden and Carter. My Brother Ryan and his girls Taylee, Kylee and Marlee. My brother Joel. My sister Tracie and her “friend” John. And of course Ben, Benji, Packer and I.
We carved out ice blocks in the front yard and made an igloo! That was pretty impressive.
Then we found a great sledding hill at a nearby golf course and played there for a few hours.
Benji actually liked sledding! We were sure he’d be too wimpy so that was a nice surprise.
