    More Back to School Pictures

I like the school schedule. I love summer but taking a break from school is what makes summer so awesome. My kids enjoy school and we all do well with a schedule so I feel like it is a win win situation at our house. We had 3 different first days of school this year so I took a billion pictures and felt the need to post more.

Rose Wishing she could go to School

One of the first days that Benji went to school the kids were so excited for him to come home. When they saw him come around the corner they ran down the street and met up with him. I love this picture of the three of them walking home and talking about school:

Home from school! Mom watching from the porch. I love that my kids can walk to and from school!

And because my blogging world stopped on Packers back to school days here are a few more of my big kindergartener…

Packer and Luca First Year at Manila!

All lined up! waiting for the teacher! and all the parents on the other side crying and/or rejoicing.

I think he did this pose last year too.

Packer is very sweet and he is STILL loving kindergarten!

How to Ween My One Year Old

Remember the camping trip where we couldn’t survive without WARM milk well… we decided to take away the warm milk and the bottle. And it is not going well. Rose has stopped drinking milk. Instead she walks around all day looking for food. Milk is what an almost 2 year old needs – especially a shorty one that needs to grow as much as possible πŸ™‚ She has 5 different types of sippies and she knows how to use a cup but she won’t drink milk out of any of them. She’ll take some sips of juice if she is really thirsty and she likes water the best.

do I look like i need a bottle?

Day 1 I was ruthless and she survived with no milk and no bottle and no nap. Day 2 by the time nap time came and an hour into it the crying hadn’t stopped I tried giving her a bottle with cold milk, which she chucked on the ground so I gave all the way in and used the beep beep and she slept soundly. Day 3 I again gave in for nap time. Day 4 she drank the bottle after it had sat out long enough to reach room temperature. And Day 5 – today she got another bottle slightly warmed for nap time. She only drank part of it though. She is going to the baby sitter tonight so I really needed her to nap.

    mom, what can I eat?

Bag of chips for breakfast on Day 1

I am torn because I want Rose to drink milk. My kids usually live on milk. Rose used to have 3 or 4 bottles in the morning and at least 6 in a day. No Bottle or no milk? I am trying to find a happy medium – Milk in a sippy was the perfect solution but she is still fighting so we will see what the weekend brings. Dad will be home to help and dads are tough! πŸ™‚

Brittney and Jason and their kids crashed at our place Wednesday night through Saturday morning while they ran around doing wedding stuff for Derek’s wedding. They have 5 kids and my kids kept asking when the new cousins were going to be back to play! (any good friend is a cousin for them). They took a little bit to warm up to each other but then they had a blast. I love catching up with good friends and I’m happy that they like to stay with us. We mostly hung out at the house during their down time but we also went to the pond and swam in the hot tub and played games. Next year when they come on their yearly Utah trip I’ll take better pictures…

    Back to Reality

On Sunday night we got back from our two week vacation in Wisconsin. We had a ton of fun. I will blog that adventure as soon as I figure out how to condense that much fun. This week has been fuller than I expected. But lots of fun. Ben took Monday off to help with the unpacking, cleaning the car and fixing the sprinklers. Erica and Than came by for a few hours in the afternoon so we had some fun chill time with them.

Gentry and Camry trying to give Ray the pink pacifier.

On Tuesday I watched Ryan and Tara’s kids all day which was also a blast. We haven’t played with them in over a month. And that evening we went to Salt Lake for Sam Hancock’s wedding reception. He looked super happy and we got to visit with good friends.

remember these guys? good memories of being together last summer

funny face - isn't he so big now?

Wednesday we all took Raymond to his 4 month well check (he is 5 months though). He weighed 17 pounds. We also had the Dr look at the rash that Benji has had for a month now.  He got some cream to rub on it. In the afternoon we went to the pool and then had the Falabella cousins over to play.

Rose might be addicted to Blues Clues!

caught Packer sneaking into the garden to eat all of the raspberries πŸ™‚

I am declaring today a lazy day. I want to do nothing. But I also want to finally get the laundry put away and the house in order. We’ll have to see who wins out. So far lazy is winning. Either way we have to get Benji to the dentist at 4 so I should at least be dressed by then.

Rosie crashed by the front door Monday evening - too cute.

    Pre California

I went to California last week! I have a deal with myself that if Ben is going to be gone then I can be gone also. So Ben went to scout camp and I took the kids to CA. LaNell came with me because I CANNOT make the drive by myself and we had a wonderful trip minus a few long hours of screaming in the car. Anyway, rewind another week before last week and that is where these pictures are coming from:

    slip n slide

We had a free Saturday and spent it at home doing a few chores but mostly just being home as a family. The kids did the slip n slide and then took the cold hose in the hot hot tub and played for hours. Rose wore arm floaties and couldn’t quite relax with them.

Cali loves the camera and she loves swimming

    Packer practicing his snorkel

The next day we got to pick my niece and nephew up at the airport. Shae is 17 and Braden is 14. They got to go to EFY this year so we spent Sunday evening hanging out with them before they went to BYU for the week. We also spent time with the Nettesheims that night for Ellie’s birthday.

Taylor, Braden, Brady, Kelsey, and Shaelyn

Joel took this random pic of Brewer waiting for us to get home Sunday night. He's a good lookin dog.

    A few more random pictures:

Our backyard Tree that we love.

Each of our children have enjoyed this swing.

Rose chewing on a rag - she loves to do this after every meal - weird - but whatever.

    Our cute thumb sucker.

Summer is going way to fast. It just started but I can already see the end…

Can’t leave Rose out of the school pictures. She posed for hers this time and DEMANDED to do everything Packer and Cali were doing.

The younger they are the bigger difference a year makes. Rose wasn’t even 1 yet when school started. She was definitely a baby and now she is a big girl. They grow to fast πŸ™

I love that Rose is finally starting to communicate more. Life is much easier when I know what she wants. That is one part of growing up that I do appreciate. Love you Rosie.

    Chocolate covered Peanut Butter Eggs

We make these every Easter, I think Ben's mom used to make them as well. They are not good for my diet but they are delicious.

Probably my favorite Eater picture this year. We had beautiful weather and this just seems to capture the beauty and joy of the day.

uncle Sean's happy face bday card

Packer still loves art. When I told him it was Uncle Sean’s birthday he went in the kitchen and made him a card right away. Now the problem is that he just doesn’t want to learn to write. He is almost done with preschool and he is just starting to write his name. The other kids are all writing theirs but his is a little longer and he just doesn’t care. I am working with him over spring break to see if we can at least get his name down.

LOVE when these girls get along

Cali is such a good helper and big sister… it is all on HER terms of course but when things are right with these two – things are GOOD. On this day both of the girls went out to ride bikes and when I looked out my heart just melted to see Cali helping Rose ride and have fun. They were both so happy…

Can you see Cali pushing Rose with her bike?

they went around and around like this - so cute to watch
