    1st Counselor

We got called in to meet with the Stake President on Sunday August 11th and Ben got called to be the 1st Counselor in the new bishopric! We were pretty surprised but excited to serve. The next Sunday we were supposed to be coming home from the wedding in CA but we came home early so that we could be there for the calling, sustaining, setting apart and everything that happened that Sunday the 18th. Ben was ordained to the office of High Priest! It was great to be there and it feels like the perfect calling at this time!

Ben will be serving with Bishop Jared Mitchell and Adam Harris and Dana Stott. He and Adam were the Tecahers Quorum Leaders so they got to fulfill that calling a few more weeks while they got new leaders in place. Here they are at TibbleFork with the YM.

I’m also getting released since Melinda had to get released. It took 3 weeks but they just got Kim to be the new president and I handed my things off to Holly, and Lori and Sherry. I loved serving in the RS Presidency. My favorite part was getting to know and visit with some women in the ward thtat I hadn’t even really met. And I loved getting to know BOTH of my presidencies! I love those ladies a lot. So I’m callingless for now and trying to capitolize on my ministering assignments and MOTHERING.

Rick and Jen and their kids Phoenix, Marek and Talia were here the first part of August! Ben went to RSL with some of them. We had a Sunday get together at Pete’s with EVERYONE.

We had another hangout when Diego was getting ready to leave on his mission.

We hosted an arcade party for Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins!

We all hung out again for Carters homecoming

It’s always good to see family and catch up on life. It was fun to swap stories and reminisce. It was fun to make new memories and to make plans for new memories. Come back soon.

    Happy Anniversary!!!

Bottom line, we are so much in love!

    16 Years!

We started the day with lots of gifts! and said goodbye to the kids.

We went to the Salt Lake Temple and did a session. We had never done that and we LOVED it. We grabbed lunch at a cafe downtown afterwards. I had a delicious chicken salad and Ben had some weird salmon.

Then we drove out to Toole and found our hotel and changed into our COUNTRY clothes so that we could go to the Concert at the Fair. The concert said it started at 7pm but it really started at 9pm so we had lots of time to chill and people watch and enjoy just being together.

Phil Vassar! We knew so many of his songs!! We stayed until the end and enjoyed the small venue and up close and personal. Even got my hat signed.

On Saturday we slept in and then went to race Go Carts! These little cars were fast and fun. If I’m being honest… Ben was way better than me at driving them.

After that we headed home to resume our life as parents 🙂

I’m your Buckaroo, I want to be like You!

He closed his little eyes, folded his little hands
And spoke to God like he was talking to a friend
And I said, “Son, now where’d you learn to pray like that?”

    [Chorus:]
He said, “I’ve been watching you, dad. Ain’t that cool?
I’m your buckaroo, I wanna be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
We like fixing things and holding mama’s hand.
Yeah we’re just alike. Hey, ain’t we, dad?
I wanna do everything you do.
    So I’ve been watching you.”

    [Bridge:]
With tears in my eyes I wrapped him in a hug
Said, “My little bear is growing up.”
He said, “But when I’m big I’ll still know what to do.”

    [Chorus:]
‘Cause I’ve been watching you, dad. Ain’t that cool?
I’m your buckaroo, I wanna be like you.
And eat all my food and grow as tall as you are.
By then I’ll be strong as Superman.
We’ll be just alike. Hey, won’t we, dad?
When I can do everything you do,
    ‘Cause I’ve been watching you.”

    Father’s Day

Breakfast in Bed and Gifts from the kids! Ben is such a good dad. The kids all adore him and his teasing. He asks a lot of them but they seem to like it in a weird way and never want to let him down. The kids all made cards and tried to get out of the mandatory Foot Rub.

After church Ben made a LOAD of fried Chicken and I made a LOAD of Potatoes and we had Father Richard Nettesheim over for dinner. All of the other Nettys wanted to be with the Father so we had the whole crew over for a fun family dinner.

The adults chatted inside while the kids played dodgeball out back.

Later that night I finally called my Dad. During the week I fixed my leaky fridge and my hot tub that wouldn’t heat. I called and asked my dad for tips of course but I always feel like I should be able to fix things because that’s what my dad always did.
