    Cali is 4!

We had a birthday and she loved being the center of attention. Cali turned 4 on December 6th! TIME FLIES.

She got to take her All About Me Poster to preschool on Tuesday!

Cali on December 4th – ready for Preschool!

We woke up early and opened Presents on her birthday! She got a doll that came with hair accessories so you can do her hair. An Ariel Barbie. A Skylander like her brothers get. She got some clothes and the game UNO MOO. It was enough to keep us busy for the day and she and Rosie have played non stop.

    Uno Moo was a hit.

All the Loot! I think it took her 5 minutes to open everything. There was no stalling in between gifts.

She also got to open her presents from my parents and we had cookies and ice cream for a treat that night. The Falabella’s stopped by in the evening and we skyped with 3 of my sisters so it was a busy night. Cali was very gracious all day. She said thank you for her gifts one hundred times, “thanks for getting me this”, and “thanks mom!” were her phrases of the day.

The funniest thing she said was right before lunch time she was getting upset about something and she stopped everything and said, “Wait, do I cry when I’m 4?” So cute. And precious. She and I have butt heads a lot over the last 2 years but we are both growing up and communicating better. Cali shared her new presents so well and has really adjusted well to helping Rose and Ray get their way most of the time. Cali is our social bug. She loves all things girly right now and is still the little mom of the house. We love her a ton.

    Make a wish!

We had the youngest cousins over the next morning so we saved the real cake for that party. Pictures coming soon.

I love my toy room. And we all LOVE when it is actually clean and organized. It took me 3 hours this time to put it back together but that was after a good month of neglect. The newly instated old goal is to make the kids clean up after themselves so it doesn’t get out of control.

    Student of the Week

Benji came home from the second week of school with this award! He got to go to the BUG lunch with the principal! Benji is a people pleaser and that includes teachers.  We love how he is always on task at school and we don’t have to worry about him. Whatever the teacher says is law!

Packer got his first homework and he loves it. He comes right home from school and gets started. I love how he wrote so many little S’s on this page and you can see how hard he was trying and how it is really difficult for him to make the letters.

    Packer’s Kindergarten Homework.

Cali is loving school as well. I love that they are so excited and uninhibited at this age. They don’t really worry about being right all of teh time. She  is pretty young for learning her letters but she is trying.

Cali’s Painting – i almost never do paints at home so it is a treat when they get to paint at school.

One more Benji Award. His teacher had a lot of really nice things to say about him. He is excellent!

    More Back to School Pictures

I like the school schedule. I love summer but taking a break from school is what makes summer so awesome. My kids enjoy school and we all do well with a schedule so I feel like it is a win win situation at our house. We had 3 different first days of school this year so I took a billion pictures and felt the need to post more.

Rose Wishing she could go to School

One of the first days that Benji went to school the kids were so excited for him to come home. When they saw him come around the corner they ran down the street and met up with him. I love this picture of the three of them walking home and talking about school:

Home from school! Mom watching from the porch. I love that my kids can walk to and from school!

And because my blogging world stopped on Packers back to school days here are a few more of my big kindergartener…

Packer and Luca First Year at Manila!

All lined up! waiting for the teacher! and all the parents on the other side crying and/or rejoicing.

I think he did this pose last year too.

Packer is very sweet and he is STILL loving kindergarten!

    WHERE HAVE I BEEN???

I wish I could say that my blog has simply been having issues and I haven’t been able to post and that is true BUT I haven’t even thought about posting because I have an almost 4 year old daughter who has decided to revert back to BABY status. She is no longer potty trained which is the biggest issue and puts me in a bad mood daily. She also throws fits, asks for sippies, doesn’t listen, and she told me that I have 3 babies now! So it has been a long month and there is no end in sight at this point….

Maybe her first wasp sting changed her into a monster?!?

Cali is a very good big sister to Raymond.

And she just peed her pants again as I type this! ahhhhh! this is exhausting.  I have tried positive reinforcement and negative punishments, and nothings is working. At this point I have given up. I am in ignoring stage, hoping the problem will fix itself or at least give me some time to regroup and power up for another round of potty training. Luckily life does go on and we have had plenty of fun amid the tantrums of our eldest daughter.

The sun still rises (and I enjoy watching it come over the mountain when I happen to look at the right time).

Skylanders is still a favorite for the boys.

Love this outfit. So ugly it’s cute.

Packer decided to change the family room into a LIBRARY one day!!

Library was a success. We did lots of reading for 3 days.

    Cali’s First Day of Preschool!

This girl was so ready for preschool. She loves the friends and interaction and attention from the teachers. She is my social girl so I signed her up! We waited all summer to see if she could get the potty thing down and then I signed her up last week. When Benji turned 4 I had a big debate with myself about preschool. I never went. It costs money. I don’t think kids need it… BUT a lot of people here do preschool and it is very affordable compared to other states. And the kicker was that Benji was such a mama’s boy that he really needed it socially. He loved preschool. I loved preschool. Packer did Joy school and preschool. So here we are putting Cali in a year early. I just know that she will LOVE it and we will butt heads less and 2 kids is such a nicer break than 3 and her cousins were both going and the teachers said she could be in the big kid class with them even though she’s still 3 until December and we fit it into our budget and there are lots of friends to carpool with…. so….

Rose wanted to be in the doorknob picture with Cali.

I don't know where she got the mouth sore but it's a bad one.

Ready with her new PRINCESS backpack!

Waiting on her bike for Anna to come pick her up for school.

With my boys I had to hold their hands and walk them to the school and all the way in and give them lots of encouragement and comfort and then they would be comfortable. With Cali I asked if she wanted to ride with Anna – YES! and at the last minute I gave her another chance for me to take her but she saw no need. She was just ready to go. She was all excitement for her first day of real school. LOVE IT.

    She Loved her first day!

    My Bikers

Packer and Cali have really been getting into their bikes lately. I love watching them ride and play together. We still don’t have any official bike riders – but I’m thinking that will change next summer.
