I did a Rose post so now you get a Cali post 🙂 I love my Cali. She is a handful. Mostly she is stubborn and always has an opinion but she is getting better as she nears the end of the terrible 2’s and we can start to reason with her. I have been told by my parents that she is me, in looks and acts, so I guess she is going to turn out GREAT 🙂

    CA-LI !! not cali-fornia, or cali-co kitten 🙂

Cali stood outside the back door and cried and would not come in or let anyone else let her in. I had several siblings try to help her but she refused them all and waited for her mom to come down and open the door for her. STUBBORN. Rewind one day – Cali has a very poopy diaper, several siblings offer to change it for her. She refuses all help and waits and waits until her mom comes home and takes care of it. STUBBORN.

a most recent fit, I think she was upset that "I" was taking a picture of Rose. Not because it was of Rose, because she needed to be the one taking the picture.

Her redeeming quality is that she is a great helper. If you give her a chore or a task she will jump on it and even fight to be the one to get to do it. I asked her to give Rose her bottle one day and now she HAS to be the one to give Rose her bottle. Cali is my best cleaner and my very best “go getter” (moms with babies need lots of going and getting).

Cali currently sleeps on the floor in her brothers room and she loves it there. She is almost a no napper 🙁 I still force her to take them on occasion. She loves to sing – her favorites are Twinkle Twinkle, Child of God, I’m a Little Tea Pot, and Sunbeam. She is always in the mood for a hot dog and drinks more milk than the rest of the house put together. Here are a few more pics from our camping trip and stuff.

out on the boat with aunt Tracie - Cali is in there somewhere.

Playing with Ella and Brinlee up camping or are they fighting??

The green blanket - she takes it everywhere and it is filthy. The sippy is also a must with her.

Cali loved the slip n slide, as long as she was on mom's lap.

    Last Week

We had another busy week. Monday and Tuesday were recovery days from Robertson Reunion and then I had to hurry and get everything in order for Erica and kids on Wednesday evening. We played hard with the Hancock’s for the rest of the week and weekend. I did not use my camera much so I a hoping that Erica did. Here are the few pictures that I do have to document the week.

FREE DRINKS - Thursday was free soda at the PG gas station so we ALL took advantage of that.

Thursday was also Kylee's birthday - 9 years old!

Ryan's kids were here all week and Erica and kids - All 12 just played GREAT together.

Packer reminding me why I don't like kids with gum and yes he needs a hair cut.

the cute little girls playing in the hose!

The big kids back from their bike ride ready to cool off.

We spent Thursday at the park and the pond and Saturday at home playing hard. We chased Gentry all over the house while Rose stayed put. Erica, LaNell and I stayed up too late and it was just fun to hang with good friends.

Monday was another recovery, catch up on tired cranky kids day.

Taylee did Cali's hair today - Cali was SOO excited to show me.

These Two are in a love/hate relationship - today they HAD to wear dresses and comb their hair the same!

    Last Thursday

Last Thursday I went to Payson Lakes! I dropped the big kids off at their cousins, then Rose and I jumped in the car with LaNell and the kayaks! We had a nice drive up there and we checked out the campground for next week when my family comes and then we paddled around the lake in the kayaks. Rose was a trooper the whole time. The afternoon out with Lan was a good idea and tons of fun.

Jana and Rose on the lake! It's really pretty up there.

On Monday I took the kids to 7 peaks again! We hadn’t been all month so it was time. We only did 3 things — Lazy River, Wave Pool, and the 2 medium slides by the lazy river. Benji and Packer just realized how fun the slides can be. They went on those ones at least 20 times each and Cali and I went a few times while the boys watched Rose at the bottom.

On Tuesday morning I have Cub Scouts and then we came home and waited for the Garage Door man to come fix our broken spring. That evening we just took it easy and MY BROTHER SEAN GOT HOME FROM HIS MISSION!! I haven’t seen him yet. The entire family is coming out here on Monday so I am waiting for him to come to us. I have talked to him though. He seemed really good and reminded me how hard it is to adjust back after giving of all your time and energy for 2 years. It is hard to think about yourself, everything you do seems pointless or selfish. He has definitely grown, his theme seems to be Exact Obedience… I am excited to see him next week.

I stole this pic - it is the only one I've seen of him!

Wednesday was play group at my house! Some of he neighbors came over and swam and played for a couple of hours. Wednesday was also when I got Snyder Dry Wall to come work on the laundry room! They put up all of the sheet rock that day and now they are finishing the mud, tape and texture.

My fun little neighbor came and held rose all during play group - she is such a good helper. Rose went right to sleep in her arms - adorable.

ready to sheet rock! I was proud of myself for moving that electrical outlet down from the upper ceiling. I know it should be in the wall but the wall was already sheet rocked and how fun is a plug in the ceiling anyway :)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

we found some zucchini hiding in the garden!

and that brings me to today… we took a quick trip to the pond this morning. My kids don’t get in past their knees but they like digging in the sand and Rose was determined to eat it.

    my happy sand eater

    my sand diggers

I wrote this all last night and got tooo tired to post so now it’s Friday but I’m not going back to change the wording 🙂 Happy Weekend!

An afternoon at the park in Cedar Hills with some cousins…

PJ, Benji and Packer, Pack is mid jump and wearing winter clothes and boots in the blazing heat.

Cali being pampered by all of the older girl cousins.

    Rose and Anna playing catch.

My view from where I sat while kids played.

Everyone loves to go UP the slides - Benji is growing up fast.

Out of Control in a good way! Cali can be a crazy fun little girl when she chooses to be.

    Caillou

    caillou

Cali is OBSESSED with Caillou! She asks for it morning and night and any time in between. This is her first obsession and it is kind of cute. I caught her singing the opening theme song word for word this morning…

“I’m just a kid who’s four, each day I grow some more, I like exploring I’m Caillou,
So many things to do, each day is something new, I’ll share them with you I’m Caillou. My world is turning, changing each day..with mommy and daddy and finding my way. Growing up is not so tough, except when I’ve had enough but there’s lots of fun stuff I’m Caillou, Caillou, Caillou, I’m Caillou. That’s me!”

I think she likes it because the little sister is Rosie just like Cali's little sister!

And I need to document the setup cause it is out of control. In order to watch Caillou she needs all 6 of her blankets and her 2 pillows and then they have to be placed in the exact right spot topped with her sippy cup of milk! This is how it goes…

    one happy Cali

The little pillow goes down first and then Ladybug goes on top of that pillow. Basketball blanket and butterfly blanket go on first, then Pink, then green. Frog and tabby have to go up by her face but not touching her. Then you hand her the milk and she is the happiest girl in the world for the next 23 minutes while she watches her show.

P.S. we all slept in until 8:30!! It’s gonna be a good day 🙂

Rose: is ready for cereal! she loves to eat.

yummy to my tummy - 5 1/2 months

Cali: is thinking that she is to big for naps – 🙁 – last week she only took one nap. I am not ready for this 27 month old to be awake all day so I am happy to report that she did take a nap yesterday and is taking a nap right now.

to big to fast - she has also started jumping off of the ledge and doing backward somersaults off the couches.

Packer: This guy came in the kitchen a few days ago to tell me: “I stuck my finger in that thingy and it stung it.” I had no idea what he was talking about so we just went on with our day. A little while later we were in the new toy room and he showed me the light switch that didn’t have the cover on that he had stuck his finger in and gotten shocked!

THE STINGY THINGY, I quickly put the covers on!

Benji: This guy went to play at Bradley’s house again and while there he and Bradley went in a closet to play. Well once they were in they couldn’t open the door to get out because the door knob was broken from that side! Benji said that they both got scared and started crying and screaming for help. No one was coming because they were downstairs and everyone else was upstairs. Then they remembered that they could say prayers to ask Heavenly Father to help them. He said that they prayed that Bradley’s mom would hear them and come open the door. He also said that they said the prayers out loud, he said about 13 prayers and Bradley said 15! Well we think they were in there for a good 40 minutes until Bradley’s mom did hear them and let them out! I’m proud of them for their faith!!

the Benj posing in the newly painted toy room.

Ben: A good way to scare your husband is to clean out from under the bathroom sink and leave the pregnancy test box on top of the garbage. Ben came down a little worried and pale looking that night :).

toy room is painted!! where's the best deal on carpet???
