    BIG GIRLS

Cali got to have her cousins over earlier in the week. These 2 year olds are growing up so fast and it was fun to see them interact and really play with each other.

    first they rode bikes

I love that they each had their sippy cups and had to ride them around and move them from bike to bike with them.

    aren't they cute

then they came in and played Legos (you can tell they all have older brothers) but they did eventually play dolls and kitchen

Today Cali and I were trying to teach Rose how to role over. She can do front to back and is getting close to sitting up. My girls have both gotten so big.

not sure why Cali has on all of the protective gear

Rose with a handful of Cali's hair - I have a feeling this won't be the only time 🙂

Benji has been reminding me every day that he gets to decorate a 2 Liter Bottle and bring it to school to be used as a prize at the School Festival this month. I of course was putting it off because I’m not that creative and I didn’t have any good ideas… Well Benji went and got the 2 liter and grabbed some art supplies and he decorated it – ALL BY HIMSELF! and I think he did a great job. And in the end I was so proud of him and glad that it truly was his project and not mine…

He was SO EXCITED to take it to school - Muscle Man

The other kids wanted in on the action. I wouldn’t let them do 2 Liter bottles so this is what Packer came up with. I can’t remember what he calls it but he loves it. Oh yeah – ever since I blogged about his bathroom dialog he has stopped doing it!! Now he is convinced that he can wipe himself and just lets me know that he’ll do it himself this time – yahoo for that!

    the creation

After these creations I revealed some wooden cars and paint and let the kids paint them. They were so excited! It was a little messy and not a  daily activity but they sure had fun doing it.

    It’s a Pillow – It’s a Pet…

Pillow Pets seem to be one of the crazes this Christmas. We got Packer one a few months ago for potty training and you couldn’t find them in the stores. Then all of a sudden they are EVERYWHERE and every child has one, does yours????

I love seeing how grown up Cali has gotten lately. She has turned into a jabber box and loves to be ‘helping’.

    CALI is 2

Monday December 6th was Cali’s birthday! She is 2, but if you ask her she doesn’t have a clue how old she is or what you are talking about. Early in the day we told her happy birthday and sang to her but she just got mad at us, so it was a normal, fit throwing, time-out-going day until dad got home from work and we brought out the presents!!!

    We finally have girl toys!

    and she loves her doll

looks like Christmas but it was just 3 little birthday gifts

I have been told that Cali might not appreciate all of the crying, whining, fit throwing pictures of her that have made it on the blog BUT that is reality and these super cute super happy pictures are also a reality for her – Sometimes she can be super cute and fun…

    She loved her Elmo cake!

and playing dollies with Aunt Kelsey

Family Pic! another one - we are doing good 🙂

I don’t love December birthdays but… thats what we got. Cali was my easiest/best delivery. She came on her own, the night/next morning after her due date. She is my toughest child right now but we can’t imagine our family without her. My mom says Cali reminds her very much of me at that age 🙂 I am ready for the terrible 2’s – lets do this!

When she wants out of bed she’ll yell, “knock knock mom”.

At bedtime she needs her 4 special blankets, her sippy, and “wrap me up”.

She usually wakes up grumpy, loves to do whatever her brothers are doing, can read books for hours, enjoys our mornings with just the girls, is obsessed with her aunts, constantly tells me to stand up when I’m holding her, and always has her hair in her face.

We came home to snow – the kids always love the first snow.
This year Packer was so excited to make a snow angel and a snow ball. Cali joined him and it was fun to see her ‘discover’ snow again. Benji is still waiting for someone to help him build a snowman… but now the snow is gone.

CALI LOVES TAKING CARE OF HER LITTLE SISTER.
She was a super good helper in the car and made sure that Rose had everything she needed. She just has those motherly instincts that her brothers definitely don’t have. She always helps me burp baby, she’s helped change a diaper, and helps with baths. She is a natural.

And Cali would hold Rose’s hand whenever she started to cry – it was very sweet:

    off to a rough start

    can you hear me crying?

Cali was playing very nicely this morning until she fell down with the bat mobile and gave herself a bloody lip 🙁 Then she started following me around the house and I ended up smashing her fingers in the door and then caught her in the eye with the zipper on Benji’s coat! that was all within 5 minutes as we were trying to get out the door to take Benji to school. The picture is not from any of these accidents though… if you zoom out you’ll see that Packer has the Thomas train and she wants it. Life is hard.

    i want Thomas

Ben came home from his Wisconsin trip with Green Bay Packers gifts for all…

Benji had a jersey but it was #4 Favre and he figured out that #4 is not in the team anymore so he needed a new number.

Cali is our little sports fan and was over due fir a girlie jersey.

Packer already has a jersey so he got snuggly jammies.

    "GO PACKERS" a fan already!

Ben had a blast with his siblings and parents. If Emily could have come it would have been the whole family!

Cali has had a hard time adjusting to life with Rose.  She likes the baby, even loves her, wants to hold her, and is the first one there to help when she cries,  BUT…

    Sister Time

… but she has been a VERY MOODY almost 2 year old. She bursts into tears over the most random things and is just an emotional basket case. You never know what to expect with her. One day she’s crying because I won’t let her play with the cousins and the next day she’s mad at me for leaving her with the cousins. She wants me to hold her – whenever my hands are full and when I try to snuggle and give her attention at my convenience she pushes me away. She takes a lot of energy and attention to say the least.

I want to hold my baby!

Luckily baby Rose has been a super good new born – In 2 weeks she has only had one bad night… she has been a very content baby. Cali is adjusting to having a little sister, but we are not there yet.
