    Pony Tail

I combed my hair the other day and then I combed Cali’s and we went down to show Grandma how cute her hair was. That’s when Cali started pointing at me and at the hair tie on my wrist and wasn’t happy until I put my hair up in a pony tail! Hmmmmm, think I wear my hair up to much!!
Next day at church I had my hair tie on my wrist again. Benji asked me if he could play with my black bracelet. I guess my kids just think that mom and her pony obsession are normal.

look how big my baby is all of a sudden 🙁

And can someone please remind me next summer to check the AC Filter so we don’t come home to frozen pipes outside and 85 degrees in the house – blahhh. You think we would have learned our lesson from last year (http://searchponderpray.com/Jana/?p=1153), but we at least were able to figure out the problem a lot quicker.

Packer just woke up! 9am 🙂 looked at me from the top of the stairs and says, “Mom, say good morning.” So I did and now he has a big smile on his face. Kids are awesome. Cali is still asleep! The baby sitter must have worn them out last night.

    Cali Talks

Cali is starting to talk! I can’t believe how much she tries to communicate. She is growing up so fast! Here is her list:

Dada – one of her favorites, she uses it often and loves to call for him and tell him bye bye.

Momma – only said when she needs something.

Baba (bottle) – rivals with Dada for favorite word. I like that she can tell me when she wants her milk.

Wawa (water), Dog, Eyes, Hair, Head, Bye bye

We tried to get her to say No but she thought we were saying Nose and kept grabbing her face. She doesn’t say yes either but she has the head shake down.

And one of my favorites is when she sings the Tiny Turtle song and says ‘Bubble, Bubble, Bubble’ and screams ‘Pop’ and then she has her own version of the word ‘again’ so we can keep on singing it. She is also a fan of the ‘mouth open wide’ part of Raindrops and Gumdrops or whatever that song is.

    NURSERY!!!

I don’t know if I’ve ever been this excited for nursery. Cali is such a handful during church. It was wonderful to drop her off at nursery and go enjoy the rest of the meetings. She ran in. Realized that I didn’t come in with her. Dad went in to distract her. He snuck out and when she realized he was gone she screamed pretty loud and threw a good fit. I listened from the door as the great teachers calmed her down. I was worried that they would come bringing her to find us but they never did. She enjoyed her first day and had a big smile on her face when we picked her up.

    18 MONTHS

I wanted to get a cute first day of nursery picture but we were running late before church and after church she was too tired to smile so this a post nap time, still grumpy picture. She and Packer are our 2 little nursery kids now. Aren’t they cute?

    We go to Nursery together!

PS – we are in California for the week and having an awesome time. I better unpack my camera so that we can document the trip. Ben didn’t get to come so we are missing him.

    Cute Cali Girl

Cali is trying to be so big these days. She wants to do exactly what her brothers do. This morning she followed them all over the park. Then when we dropped the boys off for movie day at the cousins she threw the biggest fit because she figured she was going to … so sad.

I love this picture. She was postponing her nap thinking that she could have quiet time with her brothers. She was holding Benji’s hand and playing with it. Benji finally had enough and got up and moved.

baby blanket and Moms and BEN

Ben’s mom makes a baby blanket for each of her grandkids. Cali was part of a baby boom so hers didn’t come at birth but it is a super cute blanket and she has been snuggling with it since it came in the mail.

Mother’s day was awesome. I think it was awesome because Ben spoiled me as always  BUT it was also his birthday so I wanted to be doing things for him. So in the end we were both helpful and loving and there were lots of gifts given and meals cooked (by Ben) and cleaned ( by me – I’d much rather have that job) and it was just a good day. Ben was depressed to reach the next bracket in survey world – no longer part of the 29-34 group, but he is coping :). Ben and I also have such great moms. They are there when you need them. They are helpful but not nosy, bossy or pushy. They offer advice but only when asked for it. They are always anxious to see us and sad to leave us. They are patient and kind, they play with our kids and just love being moms and Grandmothers. We love them 🙂

P.S.-Tonight we get to go see the Jazz fight for their lives!

pps – no pics of birthdays or mothers day 🙁 hmmm

ppps – The Hancock’s and Aunt Kathy came over for dinner. The food was excellent. I lost every game and the kids played great.

pppps – this was the first year that my kids were old enough to make lots of mothers day stuff. I got a lot of tootsie pop flowers, a flower pot, a card, hand prints and foot prints and lots and lots of hugs – thanks kids. And Benji was the first one up to sing with the primary this year. He did great.

pppsss – what does P.S. really mean and can you add multiple PS’s like i just did?

    Little ME

This little girl is reminding me more and more of myself these days. She has a temper, she never leaves her blanket, she cheers for my sports teams, she climbs and plays and follows her brothers everywhere, and she has a good throwing arm.

This is HER blanket – she loves it!

I had to post more of these Cali pics because she’s just a cutie and I was told by my mom to post a picture as soon as I could get her hair in pig tails… She wore them to church yesterday for the first time. She looks so big and grown up all of A sudden. So this morning we got all ready and ran out to take a picture before getting Benji off to school and… her pigtails were already falling out and messed up – – ughh, they looked cute when I did them but as you can see she has very fine hair and is going to need some product to keep it from frizzing. O well. I still think she’s cute 🙂

It looks like she's been through a day with this hair - not a minute!

Showing me her cute sandals - so happy it is warm out!

all of a sudden she looks like a 2 year old!!

my little babies - don't tell Packer I called him little

these 3 are looking so much alike lately

    Tracie and John

My sister Tracie and her husband John moved to Alaska back in August… and we haven’t seen them since –

a week or two before they moved

Technically I did give Tracie a ride to the airport at Christmas so I saw her for 45 minutes. Anyway – they were going to come say hi to us this weekend but all of the flights were full :(. We were going to rock climb, play some dominion, eat homemade ice cream…. and the kids always love it – you know how it is – the fun aunt and uncle before they have any kids of their own so they have all of the energy and time to be Super Fun. We were bummed when they called early Friday morning to say they didn’t make it.

We had a work weekend instead. Ben was up early Saturday morning working on a side project and then we got the lawn mowed before heading to Benji’s soccer game. Where we need to document his first… dribble!! No – not a goal, but he actually kicked the ball 3 times in a row on purpose. The whole sidelines erupted with cheers. I guess Ben and I are not the only ones that have noticed his tendency to step backwards when the ball comes towards him 🙂

    The Soccer Dribbler!

After the game we pulled up to our unkept yard and beautiful weather and just started working. I weeded and then Ben put new bark in all of our flower beds! It looks way better and was way over due. Anyway, we missed Tracie and John and hope they get to come soon but we ended up with a fun and productive weekend.

a little glimpse of the new bark

And this is the cute shirt that Tracie made for Cali!  I went through her wardrobe and found some summer clothes and specifically some bigger shirts to cover her big belly 🙂
