    Egg Hunt with the Cousins!!

So glad it wasn’t raining this year! Outside egg hunts are way better than inside. The kids were super excited to find their eggs and super cute to watch…

    CALI:

CALI - Ready for her first Egg hunt - I'm pretty sure she didn't participate last year...

Uh Oh - spilled the loot a few times!

Uh Oh - spilled the loot a few times!

But she figured out how to put it right back in the basket.

Enjoying the goodies with her cousins in her cousins over sized coat - it was cold and I forgot to bring hers.

    PACKER:

Packer and Cali were the first ones out with the youngest cousins!

    Searching for his eggs!

    Check this out!

    Found another one!

    BENJI:

Dad hid a hard one over here.

    Sleep Overs

We had Pacen, Camry and Claira over for 2 sleepovers and then we had Mia and Luca over for 2 more sleepovers! I admit that I didn’t have a free hand most of the time so no pictures. But my kids loved it and the guests seemed to have a good time. Today we are back to our easy family of three kids – but Cali does have a cold so not as easy as usual. Cali was a champion closet sleeper for those 4 nights but not such a good toy sharer.  Wait I did take one picture with the cousins:

It snowed all morning so we declared a snow day and watched movies and played video games. Then the sun came out after lunch and we were a little more productive, just a little though.

I just found my phone in the cupboard next to the garbage can! – Thanks Cali!

The kids new favorite game is “Animal Change” – I tried to name it “Animal Transformation” but I was quickly told that Benji had a better name 🙂 I call out an animal and all of the kids pretend to change into that animal and imitate it. They love to be the baby animals. Porcupines and Kitty Cats are the favorites.

I dreamed about Brazil last night, walking and talking Portuguese, vivid memories, and then my brain just tried to recall everything and everyone from the mission days – maybe that’s why I’ve been exhausted today?!

My children enjoyed having an empty entertainment center in our front room for a month while we looked to give it a new home.  I am happy to have found a buyer on KSL and to finally have it out of the house! Some pictures of the fun…

    Two Firsts!

First time BYU has actually won a first round NCAA tournament Game since 1993!!  Thank you, it is about time. I almost gave up and quit cheering but I pulled myself together. We survived the first overtime and then we had it. Whew – stressful morning 🙂

AND Cali is sporting her first pony tail today!! She is 15 1/2 months and finally has enough hair to almost do something with it. She won’t leave any bows in but we will see how long this pony can last…

    Cute Cali Girl…  Shy Girl…

I'm not to sure about this.

    Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Our tradition is GREEN dinner! Yum. Ben’s Family growing up carried out the Irish tradition of Cornbeef and Cabbage but I’m not to anxious to go there – sorry. We are anxiously keeping up the tradition of Grandma Nettesheim’s Green Lime Cake for dessert and I noticed at least 2 of Ben’s siblings had their green cake ready to go for tonight also. YUmmy YUM.

“We have to eat green bananas because it is St. Patrick’s.” thanks Packer 🙂

Benji out ate his parents for the first time last night – he pounded three tacos!!

“yum yum! This is soo good.” who knew kids love grilled cheese for dinner?

Cali has a hard time at the grocery store – so much good food and she loves to eat. She grabbed a yogurt and popped a hole in the top, she proceeded to use her finger as a spoon and was content the rest of the trip. And finished the whole thing when we got home.

    Benji Loves his Pre School!

That’s the latest around here. Ben is off to SCOUTS and I am thinking Baths and the TMNT movie for me and the kids 🙂

    Another Busy 10 Days

My mom and Brady drove out here last Wednesday: Brady needed to come see all of us Utah people and tell us about his mission and my Mom got to come pick up her mom here in Orem for a birthday trip to Alaska! We loved having family here and getting to play everyday. Without giving a day by day, here are some of the details: The kids loved all of the attention from Uncle Brady and Uncle Joel. We played sooo many games of Dominion – we may have ODed, maybe not though – I’d play right now if anyone wants to 🙂

Brady has that missionary spirit about him still – he was very kind and helpful the whole time he was here. He took the boys to the Park and wore them out. They came home telling me how high Brady could kick the soccer ball – impressed. And Cali even liked him.

We went geo-caching for family home evening. I have no pics but I wanted to document it because it was the first time that the boys really got into it. They were on a treasure hunt and so excited to find the treasure and a few “dinosaur” bones along the way. And who knew that the Maceys frozen yogurt is as good and as good of a deal as their soft serve.

no pictures at Maceys but these are from our picnic in our living room yesterday…

Mikila also visited over the weekend and got sucked into the Dominion Games, the Hancock’s got sucked in to. BYU lost to New Mexico 🙁 but we dominated our soccer game, everyone scored! On Tuesday I went to the airport and picked up mom and Grandma from their Alaska trip. That night we had all of Mom’s family over to our house!! And my brother and his family came down from Eden so we had a super fun Pizza Party and got all of the details about Grandma riding the dog sled in Anchorage 🙂

    The DogSled Ride!

Mom and Brady left on Wednesday so we got our day to relax and catch up on sleep. Oh yeah – and we got a new niece on the 1st of March!

Today has been fun. There was no school so we went to the Lehi pool with the Falabella’s and the Hancock’s. I drug all 3 of my kids around with life jackets on and we really had a good time. I REALLY need to teach them how to swim though or I need an extra arm. Benji has improved so much since last summer and Cali is a water baby. She just took off in the baby pool. Packer was my lap child today – probably because some kid thought it would be fun to nail him with that water shooter right when we walked in and were putting our stuff down. He was nervous the whole time after that 🙁 oh well.

And then we came home in time to build Jolly the Snowman at lunch time with Dad! Winter is here and so is the weekend. Should be a fun relaxing one.

    Who knew?

Who knew that cereal could make your kids so happy in the morning. I offered Marshmallow Mateys this morning and the boys went crazy. They were so excited! It was really fun. These were their favorite and then I stopped buying them because they are obviously not the healthiest choice and they were over priced. Anyway, We grabbed a bag at the store yesterday and everyone had a ‘wonderful’ breakfast this morning and have been in great moods! Who knew?

    Pajama Day

We are all in our pajamas still! Yes it is 3pm. We have thought about getting dressed but it just hasn’t happened yet. I won’t lie – the TV has been on most of the day. We’ve snacked and played and been lazy. I have a soccer game at 6pm so I will need to get everyone dressed and out of the house before then.

This is one reason being a Mom is the best job – No way Ben could go to work in his PJ’s.

Our life right now is full of Cali fits. She has discovered that crying can get her what she wants and she turns it on a lot. She is very moody and wants everything to go her way.  She takes it upon herself to go out of the way to get whatever Packer has so I am trying to not give in to these fits. Which means lots of tears. (And she’s  a little sick with a constantly runny nose.)

This guy could happily play with his toys all day as long as he gets a treat and a sippy once in a while and his little sister leaves him alone!

    Catch Up

Saturday January 9, 2010: We went to the “Reel Big Fish” concert in SLC. Than and Erica came with us. It was a fun night out, reminiscent of our college days. We were definitely a bit out of place and I wouldn’t go to the same concert again but we had a good time.

Friday January 15, 2010: Ben left with the Scouts for the Klondike Snow camp out. So it was just me and the kids and 13 cousins came over for cousins night and LaNell and her cousin Katie came over to keep me company and help with the 3 one year olds and 3 two year olds. So we had a busy night and Ben had a warm night under the stars in his “burrito”.

Sunday January 17, 2010: We got to church and realized that Packer’s eyes were looking red. I brought him and Cali home as he tried to convince me that “I not have pink eye.” We made cookies and Packer decided that he loved his church vest and didn’t take it off until bedtime. I forced myself to read the lessons for Sunday School and R.S. before watching the NFL Playoff games – I know that shouldn’t be a tough choice and I’d be even better not to watch them at all on Sunday but…

Tuesday January 19, 2010: I woke up and went straight to the Dr’s office – I had these same symptoms last year and new that I had a “severe case of Strep”. I spent the entire day in bed. Every part of my body was achy and tired. I couldn’t even hold the kids. Super Man (that’s Ben) stayed home and took care of everything. He worked from home and took care of the kids. The kids were little angels for him, and cried and whined every time they saw me – why? why do kids do that?

That’s our update. Today was a lazy, get my strength back, day (and fold the mound of laundry). I love days like this when I’m not trying to get anything done and can just enjoy the kids. Benji and Packer are the best of friends now. I just realized that they really play well together. Benji doesn’t beg to play with friends everyday because he can get Packer to be a super hero or Ben 10 or whatever he wants. And Cali is SO CUTE. She loves to be doing what the brothers are doing.

    Festivus

We have had a few parties recently and are enjoying seeing lots of family and friends. We had our Nettesheim family party on Saturday and really enjoyed the Festivus. The Ginger Bread Houses turned out as beautiful as they always do ( that’s a sarcastic beautiful.) The Ham was delicious. Present exchange was fun and the kids did a great job acting out the birth of Christ. I LOVE this time of year!!

On Monday Night we went to my Aunts house in Orem and represented my Mom’s part of the Johnson Family. Her Parents were there and their other 2 daughters. Six of my cousins were there with their families. We ate dinner, visited and then listened to Grandpa tell some past Christmas memories. A good time had by all.

And last night was the BYU vs Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl so we had to party with the Hancock’s –  the obsessed Cougar fans! Dan Brown was hired out to grill some good meats and we all ate too much and enjoyed watching everything go BYU’s way in the game. Tonight I think we’ll take it easy and gear up for the Christmas Eve festivities and the Christmas is here!!!!
