    NEW PAJAMAS!!

Packer and Cali convinced me that we NEEDED these pajamas – Yes Packer chose Sponge Bob AGAIN, Cali wanted Dora and Packer decided that Benji would want Toy Story more than Cars. When Benji got home from school Packer told him to go up to his room and look in his Jammie Drawer – – they were all so excited – totally worth the 10$ splurge.

DID you KNOW that MY parents WENT cruising LAST week? They flew to Puerto Rico and then got on the boat and went to a lot of cool islands. They got to go with a BUNCH of their friends and I’m sure they were missing me the whole time but they still had fun 🙂

    HUGE BOAT

My Mom on the beach somewhere in another country - jealous!

    My Dad!

I'm amazed that they got to cruise with so many good friends!

AND did you know that my littlest sister camped out at the Marriott Center for 3 nights so that she could get a good seat for Saturdays BYU basketball game – They got 6th row! We saw her on TV passing  Cosmo up the stands, and they did a fun DANCE and she got to chill with some players after/during the MWC champion celebration…

That's my Kelsey in the Red Sweatshirt

Fredette and Emery were too busy for a picture

But I just found this link and Kelsey is right there on the loading screen – first picture!

BENJI AFter SCHOOL. This guy is a creature of habit. He always has been and I’m thinking he always will be. If I am going to change anything up on him he has to be warned and talked through it and then he is still nervous until he gets used to the change. A friend has been picking him up for school in the mornings since the beginning of the year – the first few days were really hard to get him in their car and he needed bribing BUT now it is the routine and I LOVE IT….

coming home from school - kindergarten is flying by!!

It’s flying by for me anyway – this guy has grown leaps and bounds in kindergarten. He can READ. He can Write! he can actually draw and color and count by 5, 10, 20 or whatever. He is so big and it is so fun. He and Packer woke up early on Friday and started creating some art work, they continued some of the art they started with their friend Lucie – here is what they came up with. Mostly monsters…

    Benji's work

    Packer's work

Packer has this really weird habit that I have almost blogged about a few times because as much as I don’t like it I kind of want to tell him about it when he is older… so I will hide the details here in this really long post so that only the diligent readers will have the chance of reading the bathroom talk 🙂 So every time Packer goes #2 he says, (and I quote) “Mom can you come wipe my bum. I went poop but some poop is stuck in and you need to come wipe it out. ok mom?” That is word for word and he says it EVERY time and the first part is loud to get my attention and then he just trails off with the rest of the sentence and explanation.

our only Brown Eyed Child! He makes us laugh a lot.

Packer is also just getting over a little issue at primary. He went in and started crying the last 2 weeks and it was all because they switched his class to the other side of the room and he felt like he couldn’t see his big brother anymore and so he has been in tears and all of the wonderful primary peops have been trying to help, so we had a talk and I believe that this week went well, he just needed a little assurance that it is ok to sit on the new side. And on that note CALI is becoming Super Nursery Girl. She lets me drop her off and doesn’t cry! The teachers are even starting to say that she does GOOD in there. They told me on Sunday that she knows how to count from 5-10, I wasn’t sure what they meant because I try to get her to count and she stumbles with 1, 2, 3. So today we were reading a book and counting and I started but she picked up at 5 and took it to 9!

JUST THE GIRLS photo by Packer

Well, we had another FUN FULL weekend! For date night we went to a little Thai restaurant and then picked out paint for the toy room. We had ambitions to get some more work done in there but that didn’t happen. On Saturday morning we got to go to see Caitlin and Lalo get baptized! We spent the whole morning with family, eating and playing and visiting. That afternoon we watched BYU defeat Wyoming. I ran out to get a part for the hot tub and we were wornout from crabby Cali so we put the kids to bed a little before 8, and then just relaxed. Sunday was another early morning for church, a relaxing afternoon and then we invited my siblings over for dinner. Ben made some killer stroganoff and then we lost 3 rounds of Dominion, while discussing futures, dating, family trips, and the BYU craze. Now Monday is half over so I better get going.

i loved this pic - pure PJ happiness

That was a text I got from my brother last Sunday night but we have been feeling that way all week 🙂

Sorry Steelers fans but we needed to bring the Lombardi trophy home – I maybe have heard that phrase one too many times this week as well 🙂

    MOre PACKERS FANS :)

Did I mention that we watched the Super Bowl? Super Bowl XLV, Packers vs Steelers…

me, Ben, Udine, Michelle, Pete, Amanda, Matt and Jamie (Em and Schy just left 🙁 )

We watched with Ben’s family – 4 of his siblings, a cousin, and our sister in laws 3 siblings – there was so much Green and Gold in Matt’s basement that there was no doubt who that house was cheering for. All of the nieces and nephews were bouncing off of the walls. A few of them are old enough to know what a big game this is.

Nettesheim Cousins ready for the BIG game

We tried to educate Benji on the importance of this game. He almost gets what a big game it was. He was excited BUT he’s a little hesitant to wear his jersey to school what?? I convinced him that he SHOULD wear his Green Bay T-Shirt MOnday but he said only monday – not all week 🙁

Go Team! (Packer is incapable of looking at the camera)

Ben didn’t eat anything the entire game!!  what?????? Super Bowl parties = eating lots of snacks right?, not when you’re this invested in the game… Ben didn’t eat or drink at all. He sat and stared and rubbed his head, and tried to find the lucky position, and cheered… Most of us were so into the game that we couldn’t even enjoy the commercials. It was intense.

    the occasional 'stand and cheer'

The Packers won the Super Bowl in 1997 but I wasn’t a Packer fan yet and Ben was on his mission in Brazil so he didn’t get to see the victory or even really hear about it ’till it was long over. Ben’s been waiting his lifetime for this day and he is loving it!!

    CHAMPIONS!!

The MOJO this year….  Ben: White Packer shirt, no jersey, hold baby Rose. Jana: Aaron Rodgers Jersey, Ben’s grey sweatshirt, no Packer socks. Benji: Jennings Jersey. Packer: Driver Jersey. Cali: Pink Jersey. Rose: Pink Onesie. Eat Chex Mix and drink Gatorade!!! That my friends was OUR winning recipe :), the rest of the Nettys kept up the MOJO on their end and the PACKERS did the rest 🙂

Green Bay Packers Just won the Super Bowl!! That was awesome. You know we are sitting here watching highlight after highlight, not wanting to go to bed so this moment can last forever… ahh, I might just watch sports center all week long.
I caught the celebration on video – Here’s Ben’s reaction to the win… (remember he was on his mission in 97 when the Pack won it so he has been waiting a lifetime to SEE his team win the Super Bowl!!)

    Last Night

Last night was cousins night at our house! We babysit for one Friday and then we get to drop our kids off for the next 3 Fridays. I had a soccer game at the beginning of the night so Ben was on his own with 17 kids (sometimes 19-21 if all of the cousins come). Anyway – he handled them like a champ. The kids were all really good until the last hour – luckily LaNell was here to help me hold babies…

This is a true friend - she does come for dinner and shakes but also helps out more than she should 🙂

The night before last night I was worn out – so… Ben took the kids to a movie!!(Megamind at the cheap theater) and I got to chill on the couch with baby Rose and relax. After putting the kids to bed I came downstairs to find this…

I love seeing little baby on a big couch - they are just so small and dependant and I love it. But if you look closer you'll see what I thought was funny...

My relaxing evening on the couch included all of these items!!

Who doesn’t need their netbook, tablet, PSP, cell phone and home phone right next to them just in case 🙂 and paper and pencil – (i’m still old school that way.) Like I said I had a relaxing night – surfing the web, playing Rock Band on the PSP, Fruit Ninja on the Tablet, texting a few peops, brainstorming for my lesson on Sunday  – all while sitting in one spot on the couch with my baby 🙂    Cali and Packer wanted to hold Rose before bed. I can now officially say that Cali has adjusted to having a little sister. She is so much happier.

    my girls

    Packer is Mr Kisser

    The Night Before that…

Cali Got her first Crazy hair in the bath picture!

LaNell was over again (before a basketball game), and helping too much – I gave Rose a bath in the sink and then Cali wanted to be like Rose so Lan gave Cali a bath in the sink. – Cali’s hair is on the verge of long and flowing. LaNell and I won another basketball game that night while Ben stayed home with the kids and played with his new toy…

    The FREE phone!!

Did I already blog about his new phone???? Well he won the new Google phone by making a ginger bread version of the phone and then making a video of himself “unboxing” it. So a 400$ish dollar phone, no new contract and he is loving it, all of those family gingerbread houses paid off!

BYE (i don’t remember what we did the night before that, and you probably don’t care 🙂 )

    ps – GO GREEN BAY!!

Ben’s parents don’t get to see the kids open their gifts from them so I wanted them to see some of the fun…

Cali showing us how she cut the pear!

Benji unwrapping his remote control car.

Packer smashing stuff with his crane.

They have really enjoyed their gifts. Benji took his car along to show his friend in Kamas and is really good about letting his brother and sister have a turn. All the kids have enjoyed Packers handy manny set – we just realized that the crane tower can turn into a crawler tractor – pretty cool. And Cali is queen of the kitchen these days. She’s gone right over and played kitchen every morning this past week. Thanks for all of the fun Christmas – Ben, Rose and I love our gifts also, in fact we are having a Crepe Party and Ben has been searching out our raquetball options.

Thanks So Much! Hopefully we’ll be with you next Christmas to enjoy the fun together.

    CHRISTMAS EVE!

Here’s the play by play on Christmas Eve!! The last few years we have gotten together with Ben’s sister and her family but this year all of Ben’s siblings that live in Utah were able to reserve Christmas Eve for our family so we all got together at Pete and Amanda’s. It is tradition to eat all of our favorite snack foods throughout the night… This was the table o snacks also known as dinner – So yummy!

it still looked this full after we had all eaten!

    the little girls table

Christmas Eve is never complete without the family Nativity…

Practicing being Sheep and a Shepherd Girl.

The Guys waiting for the show to start.

Benji's trying to quiet the other sheep during the presentation

Rose got to be the star of the show this year.

The whole crew singing "away in a manger"

Emily and Schyleur moved back to Utah so they came to the party and Schyleur got to meet Rose…

Now she just needs to meet my brother Sean and Ben's brother Rick and Sister-in-law Jen then she'll have met all 26 of her aunts and uncles!

We then started a new tradition of Christmas Eve Dancing… Benji wanted to show off his Dance move’s that he has been practicing (usually in the kitchen after dinner with his dad and siblings). He danced for everyone and then we had all of the cousins join in for the rest of the song.

The Dancing King - he does pretty good if you can convince him to stay on his feet and not roll around on the ground.

After that we had a cousins and siblings gift exchange and then hurried home to get ready and in bed before Santa tried to come. The boys left cookies and milk for Santa and a celery stick for Dasher. They were super excited and super tired and went right to sleep.

    Pre – Christmas Fun

We went and visited Ben’s Grandparents on the Monday night before Christmas and it was great. We had Family Home Evening with them and really enjoyed our visit. One of the best parts was them trying to remember the ‘popcorn’ song.

Grandma was Mary, Grandpa was a wise man. Our kids are getting the story of Christ's birth down pretty well!

This was Rose's first time meeting her great grandparents - aren't they cute!

Grandma showing off her 80th birthday bracelet that we all got her - she LOVED it.

On Tuesday before Christmas we had a lot of snow so we took some time to play and sled with the the Falabella cousins.

    Lalo, Diego, and Benji

    Packer and Luca

    Mia and Cali

Then on Thursday I took a cute Picture of my baby 🙂

I love when they discover their tongue.

And I got a picture of the kids visiting Santa at Cabelas which needs to be documented.

    little people in little chairs

the 3rd time was not the charm for Cali - she is still not a fan of Santa - she says he is "scary".

    Traditions!

We love traditions around here. And Christmas Time is especially full of traditions for our family. Today was the annual trip to Cabelas with the Nettesheim cousins. We wait in line to see Santa and take time to look at the fish and other animals. This year they had a shooting game and the kids are always up for an elevator ride. Packer and Cali and Ben ended up going without the other half of the family this year because Benji had a birthday party at the exact same time this morning so he had to decide if he was going to go to Cabelas or the party. After much deliberation he finally decided that since he had seen Santa 3 times and told him what he wanted then it would be OK to go to the party. We were supportive of this decision especially since he has missed every party that he was invited to this year… and after Cabelas we all meet up at CJ’s for lunch so Rose, Benji and I got to see and play with the cousins there. I forgot to send the camera with Ben so this is our only picture but Udine said that I do favor my family so I feel the need to post this one with him in it…

    Netty Adults finishing lunch

Another awesome tradition is that Ben’s parents send each of the kids a new ornament each year with their name on it. Ben’s grandparents did this for him when he was young so he came into our marriage with 18 ornaments from his childhood and they all have special memories attached. It’s really fun for the kids to get the package in the mail and then hang their new ornaments on the tree.

    New Ornament

    Pure Joy

Another tradition we have is baby chillin on Dads stomach -Rose is getting so big and I am just trying to hold on to this time when I can just hold her and cuddle and she doesn’t want to play or stand or wiggle – I feel like she is growing to fast…

    Tummy Time/ Daddy Time

This Christmas week will be full of many more traditions and I am so looking forward to them all. I do love this time of year and now that all shopping is done I can just enjoy it We got to go listen to the morning kindergartens sing on Friday morning. Benji gets so excited that you just have to smile. This year he got his dad to come in and read “Snowmen at Night” for the class and he got to bring in cupcakes to celebrate his half birthday. It has been a busy/fun week for him. Ben and I also went to his work party this last week where Ben got to participate in a”Dance Off”, lets just say that I haven’t laughed that hard in a while and he did the best ‘worm’ of his dancing career (and I believe someone captured the dancing on video and it may be found online). And to top it all off I am officially playing Basketball and Soccer again! I had a basketball game on Thursday night and a soccer game last night and I am LOVING it. I do need to document that in my soccer game I tried running a little too fast and ended up flat on my stomach tripping over my own feet = new years resolution – start running and get back in shape. Anyway, there is excitement in the air and we are soaking it all in. Merry Christmas Week to all.

(I put this all in green and red so maybe it can count as our Christmas letter – a tradition that we are behind on this year )
