Splash Pad

The older kids got to go fishing with Dad and grandpa!
Except Benji was sick so he got to go the next week with Grandma and Grandpa and Micah and Kiah!
Tiago Ford Nettesheim is named after my Grandpa: Arden Ford Johnson.
The first week of Tiago’s life. June 2nd through 8th. Everything is a little blurry but I’ll let the pictures do the talking:
My mom came to help when Tiago was born! She was on a tight schedule again this year. She’s getting harder to schedule with all of my other siblings fighting for mom time and babysitting and her friends think they like to go on vacations and this year her parents needed to take her on a cruise in June. She came saturday night the 6th and went home friday morning the 12th.
It ended up being good timing for me. She came on Saturday night when we had been home a few days and started to get settled and the neighbors had brought us food and … then I just let her take over… and let Ben go back to work and gave all my Netty family a little break.
I love having my mom around. She has so much energy she puts me to shame. She comes in and makes the motherhood job look easy! She cooks and cleans and plays with the kids and with me 🙂 I’m grateful that she makes a point to come each time we have a baby.
Packer is still Mr Creative. The other day we watched a documentary about the United States and things that have happened over the years. The next morning I came down in the morning to find some Lego Creations:
those are blue air planes lodge in the buildings.
the red is the fire coming out.
These next 2 are injuries that have left a mark on him…
Notes:
these were made before 8am – the kid doesn’t know how to sleep in and he zonks out at 9pm like clock work.
Also needs to be noted that Packer is OBSESSED with Mine Craft. He discovered the game early in the year and then we fed the fire by getting him the Xbox version for his birthday. HE LOVES IT. He loves to play with siblings or cousins or friends or all by himself. I can’t understand the game but I think it’s a creativity thing… and he thrives on it. And my lazy late pregnancy days and new born days have given him lots of Mine Crafting time.
I told him no more elctronics so he went and made his own mine craft looking tree.
Wrestling with his brother might be the only other thing that brings a big smile to his face.
Ten and a half years ago I was pregnant for the first time and needed to find a doctor. Ben was working at Ancestry and I was working at Buyers Fund and so I looked up in Network Doctors and since we both worked in Orem I found an Orem doctor. I decided that I wanted one doctor that could do everything so.. he is a family practice doctor and is pretty much the only doctor any of us have ever been to. On June 1st he delivered our 7th baby! He was there for all 7 and helped me through all births and pregnancies. We’ve experienced an episiotomy, forceps, high blood pressure, jaundice, natural child birth and heart murmurs. Also a ruptured umbilical cord, BYU football games in the delivery room, circumcisions, large blood clots, weird shaped heads and lots of ear infections and strep throat. This time when he came in to check on Tiago and I at the hospital it happened to be right when Ben had brought the other kids to see us so we were able to get a picture with the Doctor and all of the kids! I love this picture:
My mother in law is one of the best out there! She really is great. Always ready to help but never intrusive. I want to be like her some day 🙂
Ben’s mom helped out a ton with the baby being born. Once we scheduled the induction date and time she cancelled appointments and changed her schedule to fit ours. She came over at 6am so that we could go to the hospital. She sat at home with 6 crazy and extra emotional and worried kids and waited for any news of new baby. She stayed at the house until the evening and then came back again on Wednesday and brought dinner. It was really nice to have her help and know that the kids were in good hands.
