HAWAII
Ben and I went to Hawaii! It was Awesome! Definitely not our normal November activity but that made it all the better. We left on Saturday November 14th and came home Saturday the 21st. Tiago did get to come with us. We left the other kids at home with my Mom and my sister Tracie. Michelle and Udine came with us! and we met Than and Erica there! and Matt and Jamie came a few days later! SO MUCH FUN!!! we are spoiled.
My pictures are all out of order and my brain can barely remember the details from one month ago so this will be scatter brained BUT it was a fun trip and I’m so glad we went to MAUI!
SUNDAY:
MONDAY:
We found lots of turtles. The one on the beach was amazing.
On Monday the 16th we rode the Ferry from Maui to Lanai. We caught a glimpse of the dolphins right as we pulled up to the island but we did not get to swim with them :). Than and Erica had been to this island before so they showed us the ropes. We walked over to the beach. NO one was there and it was gorgeous and the swimming and snorkeling were great.
It felt like we had our own private beach!
We got a ride into the town. We walked the 2 streets. We ate a mixed plate at 1 of the two restaurants. We learned a little about the town and stopped at “mormon rock”. It was neat because we got to see where my dad lived and worked the summer that he stayed there picking pineapples!
TUESDAY:
Dragons Teeth at Fleming
DT FLEMING for some boogie Boarding…
WEDNESDAY:
Honolua Bay:
Wednesday the Hancocks headed to the airport and we headed over to the beginning of the road to Hana and tried the Twin Falls hike. It was pretty wimpy. The upper trail was closed and the mosquitoes were really bad. add a sleeping baby to that so it was a quick stop.
From there we looked at a map and decided to hit the next closest waterfalls. AND it was our BAMBOO FOREST WATERFALL hike that we loved the last times we came to Maui! There was lots of water so the falls were gorgeous and the hike was short and it was really pretty and still one of our favorites.
Michelle stayed with Tiago and I at this lower waterfall while Ben, Matt, Jamie, and Udine continued up the side of the waterfall and on to 2 more falls!
THURSDAY:
LaPerouse Bay Snorkeling…
Big Beach!
the LUAU
FRIDAY:
one last time at DT FLEMING!
I LOVED THESE SHAVED ICE. I don’t like shave ice. I don’t like to pay for ice BUT these were AMAZINGLY YUMMY!
TIAGO – was such a good boy! BUT he was tiring. We lugged that 20 pounder everywhere we went and he slept in my bed all night so I was exhausted. BUT He was a good baby and I loved spending that time with him and Ben and Good Friends.
I LOVED snorkeling and TURTLES are the best – so fun to swim with those big intriguing animals…
