Crazy Halloween Weekend
The days leading up to Halloween were BUSY. We had final soccer practices and games, Grandpa Becker turned 90, pumpkin carving and costume finalizing, and executing the Great Pumpkin Party!
We carved our pumpkins on Friday night! I carved the owl earlier in the day for Grandpa Beckers birthday. The kids all picked what they wanted to carve and we jumped right in. This was the first year that Benji, Packer, Cali and Rose did a lot of the work by themselves. I actually went to a movie with my sisters and LaNell and they finished while I was gone!
We finished our soccer season on Saturday! Ray scored his usual 4 goals since he is 4 years old. I had to miss Rose’s game again. Cali got another goal! I missed Packers game 🙁 and Benji had some close chances but didn’t score this time. And now our Saturdays are free! – except wrestling tournaments have already started…
Saturday between soccer games we went to Grandpa Becker’s 90th Birthday Party!! Mom and Dad planned a great party! They had a program, kids sang, Ben made a video, and we visited with aunt, Uncle, and cousins. Grandpa and Grandma were thrilled with the attention from all of their friends and family.
And that same Saturday night – we had our PUMPKIN PARTY! We had another good turnout – we switched the movie to the garden area which was wonderful! It was a warm night with a little wind. We did Lego I Spy, and a raffle. We watched the Great Pumpkin and drank hot chocolate and ate popcorn and visited with good friends. The Family stayed and watched Hocus Pocus!
On Sunday: we spend the mornings in my bedroom and bathroom getting ready for late church. Ben is usually in the kitchen prepping dinner 🙂 I still love that!. This Sunday Erica and Than invited us over for dinner and to celebrate Than’s birthday. The food was delicious and it was fun to spend time with our “other” family.
And then it was Halloween! which I already posted. But back in California – BRADY graduated from the Academy!!
